HASSETT: People vote their wallets. I don't really trust surveys VARNEY: But you gotta look at the numbers. I mean, you got an average of regular of $4.35 a gallon. That hits voters hard. How long will it take? H: As soon as we get the strait open, oil is gonna flow like you've never seen before

Iran hit, oil fields, oil pipelines, refineries and docks. Opening the straight allows parts to repair them to flow. The last pre war oil arrived in port April 20. That's almost 8 weeks plus the order the parts, ship the parts and do the repairs.

Oil isn’t going to flow like never before, as a result of the unnecessary war started by Trump and Netanyahu oil facilities in many Middle East countries have been damaged. The effects of this war are going to be felt for months

For perhaps the first time, Hassett said something I agree with: PEOPLE VOTE THEIR WALLETS. And we’re clearly experiencing the GOP pillaging us daily in every way possible. Yes, I’m “voting my wallet.” I’m voting the GOP OUT!!!

Nobody seems to be talking about how much the closure is destabilising the gulf states. If this carries on much longer they are going to start running out of money and there will be social unrest in Qatar, UAE, and Saudi Arabia.

The USA is the one blockading the strait. And it will continue indefinitely, without meaningful negotiations, because ultimately Trump doesn't give a damn. Someone made the mistake of telling him other countries will be hurt worse than the US, and to a psychopath this is what "winning" looks like.

Prices go up much faster than they come down. Even when the Strait eventually does open, we are going to see higher gas prices for at least the next year.

Actually, the oil will flow like it did before Trump started this war. The oil was flowing just fine and the nuclear deal was working until Trump and his idiots ruined the world economy. Trump started the war. Trump raised gas prices. MAGA is incredibly stupid. They got played like bitches.

By all accounts if we had opened the strait a couple of weeks ago, the price at the pump would take a year to come down, now I’m not so sure, and other countries in Asia are on the verge of economic calamity as they depend solely on imports. We started this with no regard for other countries.

Do they not realize that there is very serious damage to oil production and processing infrastructure in the Gulf? The prices will never return to prewar, nations are already looking to decarbonize if only to secure energy independence, and the damage has well and truly been done.

Even if the strait was to open today, oil isn't going to flow like it did before the war started. Lets not forget Qatar's oil field took massive blows to their infrastructure that will take years to fix.

If you drain your bathtub, and then turn the faucet on, it’s not immediately full. They act like gas is going to go to 2.75 tomorrow. Even if you open it up today, this is going to felt past Election Day.

Actually? Capitalism punches people in their wallets, making them lose their moral direction, and steals votes from Democracy. I firmly believe this is fact. ✌️💙

Hassett may be right that once the strait is opened “oil will flow like we haven’t seen before” but so much damage will likely have been done that it will be years before we’re back to anywhere near what things were like pre-closure. Not exactly a selling point.

People are not jumping for joy right now. They're pissed. I have a 2020 Chevy Bolt. Virtually zero maintenance. Charging costs are about half what Americans are paying in gas. The free market is open. Choose wisely.

Because all those oil-producing countries will then flood the market with all the oil they can to drive down prices and reduce their profits? Just like they were [not] doing before this stupid war? What a fucking smarmy bellend. 86 Hassett.

I am confused as Trump said America doesn't need oil from the Middle East as America has enough itself. Why are gas prices so high then? 🤷‍♂️

'As soon as something completely out of our control happens everything will be way better than it was before we provoked the thing that is out of our control.' Twat.

Always the, "like never seen before". Such imbeciles! How did we land in this timeline with the absolute dumbest, most unqualified bunch of mushroom-sucking bootlickers? They're traitors & their families will live forever shamed by this group of degenerates, who hid cruelty behind Christianity.

"as we've never seen before" - NOT a winning statement. When or IF it opens and the oil is flowing, who wants to bet they still make an excuse to keep it high?

🤔 Oil will flow the same amount as it did before the Strait was closed. So ... you very much have seen it before. Unless other countries team up to put pressure on Donald to lift the blockade, unclear when he will stop holding all that oil hostage.

been waiting for trumps health care plan for 10 years, he said it will be coming out in 2 weeks and these clowns under him are doing the samething. right now gas is $4.99 a gallon, not $4.35, even thats a lie. vote all these do-nothings out of office.

This is not even true. A petroleum well that is shut down (due to lack of storage) can take 3,6,9,12 months to start producing again, and may never produce at the same levels. It’s not a light switch, that’s just not how this works.

They're even using his STUPID phrases. "Like you've never seen before." Here's the thing, Energy Vampire: prices never go back down all the way. Remember before Covid when 12 eggs were c. $.50? At their LOWEST now they're $2. Gas will be the same. Supply may go up. The cost will remain high.

"As soon as we get the Strait open..." And how are you and the Administration going to do that? The US Navy isn't going to safeguard the ships (in any meaningful or reliable way) and the insurers won't insure those ships. The diplomatic solution will give Iran (not the USA) control.

Folks, I think it’s a good thing that Republicans are so brazenly and blatantly lying about what their own voters know to be lies. We’ve been angry for years over the hypocrisy and the lies. Gas is up, not down. Telling you otherwise is offensive.

I’m so sick of their BS I could vomit — yeah, it’s gonna flow like we’ve never seen it before, because we’re gonna have to make up for the lost time … PRICK!

I have a question. Watching BBC this morning in Ireland they had a spot on the oil price it had risen to over $125 a barrel fine but underneath that it said " delivery in June " so that means fuel prices shouldn't go up till that oil hits us in June meaning they are price gouging putting it up now.

Like 10 months ago didn't Trump and Israel conduct Operation Midnight Hammer that allegedly set Irans nuclear program back by ten years?
