Trump says using military force to “get Greenland” is on the table

Isn't this where someone in the story finds a buried scroll that says "and as the past president's gather to defeat the evil one, they displayed their magic rings, a beem of light pulsed forth eliminating the evil president and the land is saved"

It's funny that the only country that the US has confidence it can beat militarily is Greenland, and it's 56,000 people. What a bunch of fucking pussies. Lost every war since 1950.

The problem with folks saying the US military should not obey these 'illegal' orders is that they are not illegal...they are just extraordinarily dangerous and stupid. You are starting a war with two nuclear armed states and huge trade partners. This is a Putin wet dream to end all wet dreams.

POTUS starting a war with an invasion & intent to occupy without a declaration of war by Congress, or at least an authorization for use of military force, is a War Crime. Members of the military & the civilians in the DOD under Trump are required to refuse illegal orders (like clear war crimes)

So, Republicans, are you *really* going to continuing hiding in cowardice when Trump orders our neighbors in the U.S. military to attack another country solely because he’s a sociopath, extreme narcissist and dumb as a rock? No, I’m dead serious. Are you really?

Well that would be a war crime and anyone who participates will be a war criminal and we’ll see you all at The Hague. Oh, And the “I was just following orders” defence didn’t go over so well the last time their Nazi brothers used it. 😂😂

Surprise, surprise, surprise. Someone give Trump a gun, he wants to impose his will on a sovereign territory of a treaty ally. This should really help the stock market and the price of eggs and vacation travelers coming to the USA.

Didn't Trump say he didn't want any more "neverending wars"? If he starts this shit with Greenland, he's going to pull us into another one. He thinks he can do with Greenland what Putin did with Crimea? He'd best think again. NATO will step in to protect them, and then where is he?

I have no words 😶 he is acting like Putin. Yeah and he has lawyers for PB & OK and his own. Greenland must loathe him like Canada loathes him. Can’t blame them one. I hate us. He wants land like Putin. Greenland 🇬🇱 Denmark I’m sorry for the rudeness and ignorance and disrespect from Trump

Yeah, the second amendment was supposed to protect the American people against a tyrannical government! LoL until it actually happens, then they are chicken s***.

I think I’ve just figured it out: Trump isn’t talking about invading Canada because a going to invade Greenland, trigger NATO’s Article 5, and then invade Canada ANYWAY. To talk about it would cause Canada to arm up, but he’s going soften us economically first, but invade anyway 😩

They aren't making moves that align with expansionism. They have gutted and alienated the Military (VA), Logistics (Gov't), Finance (Markets), and Intelligence services. Installing loyalty and firing competency in leadership is having predictable results (failure), with unpredictable effects.

This is not - as so many apparently think it is - “insane,” “traitorous,” “maniacal,” etc. These regular human terms do not fit any longer. Let us call it what it is: a fascist takeover of America. And he and his regime was voted into power — just as Hitler was.

Hi! I’m a citizen in the USA, I voted in the last election, vote pretty regularly actually, while I did not vote for Trump I am still his boss. He hasn’t been cleared to invade any country but he is being reviewed for termination due to multiple violations of the law and Constitution. Thank you.

A president musing about invading allies and breaking term limits isn’t leadership—it’s lunacy. Power without restraint isn’t strength, it’s danger. This isn’t a joke. It’s a warning shot. The Constitution doesn’t bend for ego.

Do you think Trump got this idea to take Greenland himself? He just wants to play golf and not go to jail. So who is driving this insane 'presidential desire' I wonder🤔 Just who else would do this🤔 The right answer is most often the obvious answer you just don't want to accept.

You can just go on You Tube and watch how Vladimir Solovyov arrogantly "predicts Russia and America will team up and go against Europe" etc. or simply follow Julia Davis who keeps track. Also pay attention to how Vance is in on it, not just Trump & co. Actually they consider it quite fun. Got it?

this includes how they (Putin, Lavrov etc.) makes fun of others, their agreement with Trump to divide the world (officially negotiating “peace” talks for Ukraine!) Just LOOK for yourself and recognize why & what high treason is happening behind closed doors in the Oval office (re Greenland, US etc)

Under the War Powers Resolution, Congress approval is needed to send US forces onto foreign soil. Congress would have to agree to an act of war with Greenland. The president acting alone, declaring war on Greenland, would be an illegal act.

They won't. As a veteran: we are asked to do things we don't agree with all of the time in the name of war. It isn't always apparent what constitutes an "illegal order" in the moment. This will be no different, and they will obey orders.

Typical American attitude "I see it, I want it, I take it". It's utterly disgusting what power hungry bullies trump & company are. In 2025 we're threatening to steal the land & resources of sovereign nations? Where's 007 when we need him?

Orange guy believes his only way to have a lasting positive legacy (see his ranking of presidents by informed scholars) is to annex/takeover a sovereign country. Just like his Russian pal. Future worldwide generations may recite trump in the same way hitler is used. Some legacy. Narcissist goon.

At least the military would finally have to make its choice. It's been able to pathetically hedge thus far while Democratic members of Congress have been unfairly blamed and stalked. This is something America could never come back from, even post-Trump.

This idiot should remember, that Novo Nordisk provides the US with around 30% of their insulin. Denmark doesn't have to fire a single shot, to make the US hurt like hell. All they have to do is to stop sending insulin. 1.6 Million americans are Type 1 diabetics. Yo do the math how long it would take

I mean, honestly, do you think denmark would have any problems, to just cut the supply and wait for the results? They provide up to 33% of the wordwide insulin supply. Even if other countries were willing to help the US out, they would be the next to get hit.

This is not even close to a fight. There are just simply not enough capacities to replace denmark in this. Meaning the US would have in between 5,000 - 20,000 dead americans in the first few weeks. And not a single shot would have been fired by the danes.

What do you think? For how many weeks would Trump be able to keep this number up? In a war of aggression, mind you. The danes could simply sit back, put their feet on the table and wait for the US to either withdraw or capitulate.

Of course it would fail. Duh. Democrats must stop hiding and waiting. They need to take noisy public stands. Force the GOP members to defend the insanity. That’s what opposition looks like when you don’t hold the levers of power. Inspire the base. Build confidence. This is no time to be passive.

Have you seen this bsky.app/profile/doir... I suppose it means nothing if you feel free to ignore treaties.

I didn't repost this when I saw so I had to fish it out of my history. I apologise to whoever originally linked to it for not remembering who they are. My thanks anyway. A, professionally translated, interesting article about an old US - Danish treaty. jyllands-posten.dk/indland/ECE1...

l'm so ashamed of the US actions right now. This will not reflect well for us in history. The trajectory of history is expansion of individual rights. We are in retro mode. Empires who think too highly of themselves as, Trump thinks - ultimately fail.

These evil men sit around Trump's golf resort and casually entertain the idea of starting a pointless war in which American soldiers were assuredly die so that they can all get a little richer

Since the US would be an imperialistic aggressor with no provocation I would have less than zero sympathy for American soldiers My sympathy and support would be solely with the people of Greenland and Denmark

Well, obviously. Vance said he didn't think that we would need to use military force because they would be "reasonable" and hand over Greenland. If he weren't threatening military force, he would have said that we're not going to do that, not that we wouldn't need to based on hope for compliance.
