1254 people died or were killed by alcohol related incidents in Texas 2025. Guess how many cannabis related deaths the state had? Google bs - always a laugh.

Greg Abbott & others from his era suffer from the effects of "reefer madness", believing THC to be the devil's spawn & as bad as opiates (or at least an on-ramp to them), so they gleefully argue for prohibition. But can you imagine Texan's reaction if alcohol were to be banned again? #HandsOffMyJack

Adam, if not for THC, I’d of killed myself. Drs had me on Fentanyl, first, then Butrans. Those are nasty opioids. I’d a severe allergic reaction to Butrans. Swore off any/all opioids. MMJ has, quite literally, saved my life. My drs are in full agreement. I’ve cEDS, vEDS, Sjõgren’s, Fibromyalgia… 1/2

Neuropathy, Diverticulitis/osis, IBD…. My body is in constant, severe pain. Without THC, I couldn’t bear it. Truly. It’s been a life saver for this nearly 67yo woman. Texas lawmakers are damned fools.

Oh, and my pain tolerance is very high I gave birth to two babies - without medication (even epidural) and not as much as a whimper exited my mouth. (No some weirdo - just high pain tolerance. I’m no wimp)

Well you see sir… Texas has both private prisons AND private probation systems in place and while THC is benign, you MUST consider the shareholders. They NEED this restriction else the dividends end…

They need to keep alcohol, pharma, paper, textile lobbyists etc making that money. Plus what you said. Every evil inflicted on us is so the right people keep all the money, planet be damned.

Tennessee allowed some THC products, then decided to claw that waaay back after a few years. Put so many small businesses out of business. I blame the alcohol industry lobbyists. Also, “Pot for Potholes” was brilliant and would have been a win/win for our state revenue and our infrastructure.

pressure & money came from the beer & tobacco industries when it was observed THC was being used more often by younger people than their addictive products, so it’s now in the same classification as heroin, meth & coke & in tx the penalties are terribly strict even for the smallest amt of pot or THC

It is telling that in Canada, we can go to a gov’t Cannabis shop, or any private cannabis business, and purchase as much weed and/or THC edibles, etc. as we can afford/carry, yet in 26 US states, we’d be imprisoned for possessing such things. Tell me again how the USA is a shining beacon of freedom.

LOL. Many historians think that the Christian god was created by THC: the cult that started the Zoroaster religion, the precursor of the Abrahamic religions, bred high (for that period)-THC strains of hemp and used them in religious ceremonies.

I had not heard that one. Are we sure it was not the folks at the council writing the Bible who used it? Constantine had some thoughts about their wine consumption. I smoked some California weed years ago. I was convinced I was God.

As a veteran (you, not me) please speak with your fellow veterans about its help on a medical level. I believe the research is pretty good on helping with many pain related ailments I also think we can treat recreational THC like alcohol and as long people don't use it and drive, it's okay.

I'm not a THC fan and don't use any cannabis products. But I support the total legalization of marijuana products. I know some chronic pain sufferers who've been help immensely by pot. Alcohol is far more dangerous and it's legal.

Meanwhile Anoka, MN opened the only municipal dispensary in the country, right next to the municipal liquor store. Money goes to the town, and since they can't accept tips as government workers they still put out tip jars, which they donate to a different local nonprofit charityevery week.

Why not go after the alcohol industry instead? It causes more people health issues and harms more people than THC. More people are turning away from alcohol and the industry knows why. THC edibles and beverages are safer & people like them because they don’t turn you into a monster. 🤔

Seriously, I know older people that would have never, but now using gummies to help pain and to sleep. They got off of opiods and are doing better.

Why are people still living there, ffs? Jesus, just let TX secede from the Union already. 🤦‍♀️ People will just start growing their own plants, for flower, butter and edibles. Obviously, Prohibition worked out so well. 😑

It will be banned long enough, for Trump and Familiy to get their Cannibis Buisness investments in place... And Trump will be looking for a way to obtain sole distributorship license/contract, before legalizing it.

I wasn’t either until I worked 47 years then got crippled up with osteoporosis and arthritis. No Doctor alive will have any mercy, dr weed does.🙏

After banning THC, there must be no more pressing issues in the state of Texas to address. So - hold my beer - the governor’s gone way out of his way to fuck with Muslim foot washing stations in 2 busy airports (DFW & IAH). How petty and small! I don’t think even Rhonda Santis would stoop that low!

🇨🇦 Legalized THC Cannabis and other THC products 7 years ago. They tax it, control distribution and put strict guidelines on advertising. It has raised over $12B in Federal Tax Revenue and over $4B in Provincial Tax Revenue ( States in 🇺🇲 ) on an annual basis. It funds Healthcare & Education.

Canada is the place to go. If you think I’m not a ‘patriot’ kiss my ass. I’m not stupid though. Climate getting warmer, america getting dumber, time to migrate folks. Not that difficult to understand.

Hope this is finally what we need here in Texas to vote out Abbott and flip Tx blue. That and the endless amount of data centers being built in red counties. Republicans have always put power over people but their constituents haven’t really cared until now.

Happy Sunday to you too lol..very much so a dumb idea to ban a substance known to promote overall welfare of individuals, whereas alcohol claims lives hourly..kinda like they want the chaos bound to ensue.

Yeah, why would you want a drug that calms a huge part of your populace during shitty times? Ban it, sure. One step closer to a revolution

It’s more profitable to create laws that give you legal slavery. If you’re not sure why I’m saying this, check the 13th amendment. You’ll find that slavery is constitutionally legal as punishment for a crime… Slavery never stopped here. They just tried to make it harder for people to recognize.

Funny, the vast majority of human civilization for the last 5000 years excepting the last 100 have been on board with it.

I use gummies (cannot smoke it) and now I can sleep I am calm and people even say that it's fun to have me suddenly around. No more old grumpy dude 😎🤣🤣

A party of a small government... I guess by a "small government" Retardigans mean as fewer people in the government as possible, ideally one king/dictator only dictating what you can and cannot do.

Between the THC ban, data centers, destroying Big Bend, and ICE kidnappings, we might finally get Texas back to Blue. Plus, of course, the economy and the war in Iran. Voter suppression is the only way the Republicans can win.

Texans, move to New York. Abortion, Marijuana are legal, and always will be. It is no more expensive to live in rural Upstate than in Texas.

🎯 Homecoming weekend 1971. Much preferred to booze: no hangover. We can now order online from a quality controlled, government website & have it delivered in about 3 days. Legal. So civilized. Or, head down the road to the reserve & pick up an emergency supply. 😉

I don't think them dumbasses realize how many republican voters smoke weed and eat CBD gummies. Their idea of a pothead is a 60s hippy. The TXGOP are lost when it comes to what the people want or need.
