I think the biggest problem is that no one except Epstein went to jail for raping children. There was a $250 million settlement none of the victims were even aware of. It was an obvious cover up.

Because the cases were open. It would have been extremely reckless to release files during the Biden administration when they were still investigating these men. Bondi and Patel stupidly closed so the cases and took away a convenient excuse because they're morons.

I think the simpler answer is that whether or not any prior administration failed to release these records, we want them released now, and the next Democratic administration will release them. Nuance just confuses them.

technically until yesterday the evidence was still subject to an ongoing appeal. Now that the supreme court refused Maxwell’s appeal the government can share everything without fear of it being barred from a re-trial of maxwell.

Our judicial system is designed so that 10 guilty men may go free before 1 innocent is punished, or make that 100 if they have money.

My take: When trump said he would release the files, he was publicly warning the powerful people in those files "If you don't put me back in the WH, I will drop a dime on all of you". But once his own voters asked for them to be released, he went into full panic mode.

The files were also part of the ongoing Maxwell case during part of the Biden presidency and therefore could not be released.
