I think this is right. But the core issue is that these games are so damned expensive to make, that the only way they think they can make back their budget, let alone profit, is by appealing to the lowest common denominator. The yellow paint is just an obvious heuristic for this design philosophy.

Modern media is in competition for your attention with your phone. But rather than trust that you care enough about what they're making to put your phone down for it, they're instead designing it so that you can engage with it while putting in as little attention to it as possible.

It used to be we'd only get new technologies that cook people's brains every 50 years. Thanks to technological advances, we now get them every 5 years.

I'm still reeling from learning how those classes teach people to make AI characters that mimic cultures - like "the sassy black lady who tells is like it is" or "native dude with esoteric wisdom." It's eroding everyone's souls.

Personally, I would make the case that if the American people don’t want to “politicize the judiciary”, we should extradite these guys to The Hague and be tried by an independent third party.

Just state the options plainly, 1. Try these fucks ourselves. 2. Have someone else try them for us. 3. Abolish the Rule of Law and reinstate the Divine Right of Kings. And state that anyone choosing option 3 should be ignored.
