Is this trip really necessary?

OK, I don't like to repost a lot but this could be big on Brazil's elections: At least on the upside there appear to be big protests.

Bolsonaro-friendly mayors appear to be sabotaging public transport on Election Day. Buses aren’t running in Lula-friendly areas, flights and ferries mysteriously canceled. Traffic lights have gone out and people’s power cut in Salvador, indigenous people’s travel restricted

In another thought from recent days, I was wondering what Trump's projection about 'autopens' has been since Biden won. Then, you see he has these ceremonies 'on day one' signing orders he don't even know what they are.

The fact we've had a week of Musk and Trump varying administration officials denying they are behind throttling Ukraine's defense is a case study. A case study in the conservative mind being all about blame, not actually results or fixing a damn thing, whether they're the ones breaking it or not.

Just to repeat this cause I think people may not notice when the consequences of this are shown in military failures and illegal orders and stupid ideas what a war or military even is...

I wonder if kitties know some way snakeys can cure migraines, cause my girl here bringing me baby snakeys and my migraines definitely coincide even more than you might think, on the odds. OK, little snakey, time to go back to what you was doing... :)

AI companies and investors be like, "The cost of shipping all the bacon to Jupiter may be high, but we promise it'll be worth it?" 'Err, Why?' "You Luddite, so the Chinese don't do it first or something!" 'Err, do what, why?'

Oh, if anyone's missing the 'Power To The People' livestream on the Dropkick Murphys' Youtube channel, well, ...stop missing that. Public Enemy's up now. I shoulda thought to say this sooner.

My peace plan for the Middle East and much of the east of Europe: "OK, everyone do counterbattery fire and then stop shooting missiles at civilians a minute." (You too, Russia but you're the invader so you don't get to shoot either right now.)

Note: Mayor Mamdani being a beloved mayor of NYC is the best refutation ever of whatever the terrorists expected to do when they attacked NYC and America in general on 9/11. It took a lot of right-wing propaganda after the fact to turn too many into some of the unrecognizeable crap we see today.

I think left wing Youtube media needs to cool it with the meaningless hyperbole in cilckbait and keep either burying the ostensible lede or never getting round to it. You are not informing me by wasting my time with analyzing our general gripes, people. Be substantive. Then comment. Dateline.

OK, I'm hearing enough stupidity coming out from the real estate guys just left the Kremlin, so let me get something straight: It may be true that you'll never lose *money* underestimating American consumers' intelligence, but it's a great fricking way to lose *wars.*

Also, Are You Not Entertained? You know what, I'm not entertained. I greet the dawn with upraised arms and wonder if anyone well-placed will buy the clue while I'm hiding from likely migraines and thanking all the Gods that are friends of us that my roof doesn't depend on the clock. I'm occupied.

Also, speaking of maybe-I-should say something. There's always a certain number of eedjits thinking they're impressing people with an IQ score they claim. The test is a joke and only liars try to flex about it when they can't substantiate their bullshit. Tests do not mean you know anything.

People who cannot engage honestly with reality or who are willing to lie in these ways are the true idiots. Because they choose this. If reality were multiple-choice I would be a great physicist, I said. But it isn't, is it. There is no use for intelligence if you don't pay attention.

Someone put me in a subscription pack and hey there everyone, so I feel like I should say something. So. Umm. Trump's apparently starting his triumphal arch of vulgarity and ignorance. I think he is trying to declare a triumph before he's finished losing. Sorry f'n SOB. (I'm Bostonian, btw.)

One thing I mislike about modern warfare is, you can techify it, you can automate it, you can send robots and drones and videogameify it and hide or Twitter- promote it. Still the ancient problem that most of the senseless destruction and things burning down comes *after* the contest is decided.

So, paper straw-trauma came up earlier, and I was like, 'They were always paper, these days they just don't wax em enough.' Made me think how sometimes eco-solutions get pushed that bit too far and lose utility. Like 'Did you really have to shave that last eight inches off the back of microcar?'

Also the Trump administration is a case study in why Bostonians have been working tirelessly to condense "Dafuquiswrongwichu' into one syllable. Prototypes of Dafuq have been in beta test a while, but we'll puh through the barrier soon, we hope.

You know, I was holding this observation back about July 4th and all the usual screaming about 'our poor animal babies can't take the feeers and noise! I and Miss Kitty and her esteemed predecessor here to that say, "NUTS!" If they're overly afraid of thunder or fireworks, they probably...

...Probably learned that fear or distress or anger from *us.* (Keep sensitive ears away from the bangs and booms, but animal friends are sometimes only afraid is iff *we* get scared or stressed about it or treat it like a crisis.

Yaknow, there's much comment on the devaluing and dissing of expertise and facts in the world and corporate and disinformation media, but it occurs to me that it's also pushing off all manner of mental and emotional labor off on the populace to have to account for motivation, propaganda, AI fakery,

screwups, obfuscation, etc, even to try and be informed, never mind 'debate' things that really aren't that f'n hard to not have 'controversy' about. Anti-intellectualism creates all these woes and sucks up our time, while they scam about 'artificial intelligence' that wastes our time and effort.

End result? Being ripped off and oppressed by delusional greed and oppressive fanatics. Again. But this time they are stealing *our* emotional and intellectual labor in the process of taking that capacity away along with our freedom and worth.

0430 this morning. OK, time to stop philosophizing and prepare to hit the rack. *kittycat meows, Largebug crashes into screen and onto keyboard.* In a world with too many people wanting to just blow shit up and start over, but no clue how anything works, thanks Largebug, for bein yer crazy self.

They removed CD/DVD drives from PCs. -Made physical media harder to buy and use. -Removed expandable storage from phones. -Pushed us into streaming subscriptions. -Made always-online normal. -Made unlimited internet necessary. -Slowly raised the price of everything. Ownership quietly became renting.

(Also that last one's about being in the US like thirty years after that song trying to be a priestess about too many people not believing there's anything to fight *for* but wounded senses of masculinity and induced self-shaming and all the kinds of things that make 'incels' of younger people.)
