Tech companies invented a new “Save As” and charged money for it. Lol

404 Media@404media.co

In June, 404 Media obtained leaked audio from Accenture where execs shared that a big source of AI token ‘chewing’ is people just converting PDFs to presentation slides. Now, they're capping use to $29 a month. Employees are stressed. @josephcox.bsky.social explains: www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-ag...

Hey, ProPublica reporter Jake Pearson here. I’m taking over the account to tell you about my new story. For months, I posed as a problem gambler on DraftKings to test the company's "responsible gaming" safeguards. Spoiler alert: They made me a VIP — and I lost $10K. Here's how it all went down. 🧵

AI companies pivoting from “give us money to help humanity” to “give us money because AI is out if control” is a great grift. Classic grift. Throwing a bunch of non-tech journos out there to carry the water on this grift: Outstanding. Five stars.

This dude kept popping up in my feeds under headlines of “Hunter Biden owns [right-wing media outlet] over [maudlin issue].” It’s funny to see he is doing this rw media tour in order to fleece these people with a bitcoin scam.

I get the specific magic of these two (specifically Ebert) but I can’t believe there isn’t a TikTok/Instagram version of this format with new critics. The review of this movie is a 3-minute segment, and you’re telling me we have Subway Takes but not this?

It must be stated that Yellow Journalism is back and in full swing since Trump took office.

Georgia Sen. Jon Ossoff, who is up for reelection in November, took a swing at Natalie Harp, President Donald Trump’s executive assistant. CNN’s Betsy Klein explains who Harp is and how her relationship with the president has evolved over the years. Read more: https://cnn.it/4gffjRx

Thinking about becoming a Commodore 64 guy again. There’s a decent community on reddit for it. For example, Michael Cranford (Bard’s Tale) announced a C64 game on that board and that was closer to his original vision of BT, and it looks great!

Sixers hold a moment of silence for Dan McQuade.

People are always like “this is not who we are as a society,” and that makes me remember the time in 1987 when I watched a gunman hold a local news affiliate hostage on air in order to have the anchor read off conspiracy theories. Seems like who we are and have been for a very long time!
