#GodotEngine 4.7 is here! 🎉 Like a cult classic movie, Godot 4 has only gotten better with age; the 4.7 Director's Cut offers colors of never-before-reached intensity, helming a bevy of new features to eliminate any remaining friction between you and your vision! godotengine.org/releases/4.7/

godotengine.orgGodot 4.7 Release: Lights, Camera, Action!Like a cult classic movie, Godot 4 has only gotten better with age. This brings us to Godot 4.7. With 3 years under its belt, the 4.7 _Director’s Cut_ offers colors of never-before-reached intensity.

More of my "roguelike but you never choose between 3 randoms things". With more temporary devarts this time. Enemies IA is still not done so gameplay is a bit stale but the "wave crafting" mechanics is staring to take shape. #Godot #Gamedev

Worked on progression and unlocking new crafting recipes. Still full of fake data and dev-art, focusing on mechanics for now. #Godot #Gamedev

Decided to spent this 4 day weekend game-jamming this idea I had a while ago. Progress so far at the second day. Excuse my programmer art :) #godot #gamedev

Making games as a hobby is so frigging fun, you can do all "don't do this" of #gamedev: - an MMO where all you do is fishing - art made in mspaint

Some before and after, the colors are more gentle now, it was an interesting exercise to change the art without touching the code.

Try my game directly on @itch.io and tell me what you think! #game #gamedev #webgame #webdev

#Godot 4.6 is out, and all about your flow! This release puts you and your workflow first with a new theme, flexible docks, and dozens of UX improvements. And Jolt Physics by default, revamped IK, better reflections, and more. Less wrestling with UI. More making games. godotengine.org/releases/4.6

godotengine.orgGodot 4.6 Release: It's all about your flowWith the stability gained over the past five releases, it's time for polish and quality of life improvements for everyday development.

For the current puzzle game I am making, I made myself a button that when pressed creates a unit test that redo exactly the steps I have done to be in that state. This has proven so helpful! TDD is under-used in #gamedev, those repro-steps are sometimes so complex to get into.

Got a new computer for black Friday and almost immediately did the thing of breaking the case side glass panel 😂. Tbh it's kinda badly designed, you unscrew it and there is no lip to keep it from falling, was 100% not expecting this.

For people who play -dles games how do you find them? One of those dedicated website? Content creator? Other? #gamedev #wordle #scrabble #puzzlegames

Got distracted and I started a new letter based puzzle game. In this one you simply have to find the 7 words, I am already doing my dailies even tho the game is not out yet. #gamedev

#GodotEngine 4.5 has finally arrived! 🎉 With this new release, we made meticulous efforts in order to amplify what is possible to do with our engine, guided by our goal of making gaming and game development for everyone! godotengine.org/releases/4.5/

godotengine.orgGodot 4.5, making dreams accessible – Godot EngineFrom mind-blowing effects now made possible by the stencil buffer to accessible descriptions of your GUI elements that opens up the possibility for people with disabilities to play your game — we are ...

Had a mindshift where I realized a good goal for a #gamedev side project is a 10 min polished gameplay demo, not a "finished" game. It makes everything feel way more achievable.

Had a pretty good idea for a -dle game. Was able to have a proto working but it's kinda hard at the moment. Not sure if I just suck at that kinda games or if it's just too hard. I need to find a way to choose "easy" words to find, No idea how 😅 #gamedev

Today is a bank day here so you we are doing more boids. Replaced the colored triangles and tweaked the code so it behave more the way I wanted. Next, I want to do coordinated attacks smup style. #Godot #GameDev

Finally got some times to continue my NPC boids aventure in #Godot. it's closer to what I want (they change colors when they are ready to attack). #gamedev

Continuing with boids NPC behavior. The red ones stay away as a group (they will shoot in patterns) and the green one are more interested in rushing the enemy (the cursor for now). #Godot #gamedev

I've always #gamedev using a bottom-up approach where I code some features and then integrate some art for them, but lately I have been thinking of what it meant to use a top down approach (making the art and animations first) how do you research and experiment features, with more artwork?

Finally figured out how to use animation node state machine and the "advance_expression" to avoid managing the playback and the parameters all over the code. Couldn't find a quick tutorial on it, so here's a short (mute) video showing how it works. #Godot #GameDev

Some basic enemies boids movement, circling around the target without touching it. Inspired by www.youtube.com/watch?v=oFnI... #Godot #gamedev

Prototyping a duck fighting game in #godot One click control for both attack and defense. Starting to be fun to play, I need to work on the IA or "just" make it multiplayer. #gamedev

A good #gamedev tip to add some extra juice to your game is the 'No Teleportation Rule'. Elements in your game should never just pop into place. Instead, use easing on position, opacity, or scale for a juicier feel. #godot
