Wow Cyberpunk,.Exit 8, and Resident Evil are all adaptations that feel like they could be part of the series they come from rather than a retelling of it and they are all great. This will quickly be forgotten by anyone financing videogame movies.

If I had a nickel for every time a 2026 videogame movie adaptation was about a guy who finds out his girlfriend is pregnant before getting into a bad situation that is a metaphor for fatherhood I would have two nickels.

Onimusha has some problems but dear Lord if they can fix them in a sequel it could easily compete with the best of the best. Top tier boss battles, combat, cutscenes, and suite of bag guys. Really just brimming with potential.

Hey, Onimusha is one of the best action games in years. God tier boss fights and a combat system that is not Souls.

The venn diagram of people this will make sense to is very small, but Onimusha Way of the Sword is the Silent Hill f of the Onimusha series.

The new Onimusha doesn't feel like the old Onimusha but it does feel like a horror samurai game spin off for today's Capcom in the way Onimusha felt like a horror samurai game spin off of PS2 era Capcom.

Wild that PlayStation created live service games in lieu of continuing their killer single player game streak and we didn't even get the live service games.
