github.com/oxidecompute... solves a problem that I have with using jj and zed. Zed's diff viewer only understands git so in a jj colocated repo I can only view the diff for the top change in my branch. Skepsis lets me review the full diff of all the changes in my branch easily before I push it.

Lesson learned: if you’re running with compression arm warmers, hit those upper arms with some body glide first.

Obviously that’s heartbreaking for Indiana but if Julian Sayin’s arm keeps him out for more than a game that could be the end of our season

If I had to describe running a marathon in one word it would be “humbling”. I finished in 4:38 which was longer than I’d hoped. But I finished!

You’re telling me a Chicago fed this president?

CHICAGO FED PRESIDENT AUSTAN GOOLSBEE ON VIBES VS DATA I interviewed Chicago Fed President Austan Goolsbee on: (1) inflation and sentiment (2) the disconnect between sentiment + data (3) our low-fire, low-hire job market and (4) whether the Al buildout is overheating the economy

Thanks to LLMs I can now build and run everything I would ever want to in my homelab but also thanks to LLMs I can't get the hardware I need to run it on. It's like some kind of O. Henry story.

Sure there’s a bunch of really cool stuff that’s new in the TRMNL X but it also comes with the nicest USB C cable I’ve ever seen. It’s magnetic so that it stays looped when you wind it. I want to get rid of all my other cables and get more like this.

Hopes for the 2026 Royals: ❌ make the playoffs ❌ winning record ❌ not last in division ✅ Salvy takes the all time Royals HR record

The new Siri is terrible actually. If you tell it to send someone a message that asks a question it might just try to answer the question for you instead.

It seems to do better if you say "ask" instead of "tell" but I'm used to being able to say "tell" for sending any kind of message without having to think about whether it's a question or not

It finally felt like fall for my run this morning and I was pleasantly surprised to rediscover what a normal amount of sweat is

In my experience the new Siri AI is much worse at sending messages, the task that I most frequently use it for. Slower, has problems matching names to contacts, asks me for the message again, etc

Thought I might finally grab a Presto but then I remembered the mind-numbingly stupid tariff nonsense. Sorry Pimoroni, hopefully someday

Huh. Claude needed to look up some source code for an external library and found it via a tarball in /nix/store instead of discovering that I had the git repo for that library already cloned under ~/src. Fine, I guess!

This morning I uploaded a high-speed video from my phone to Claude and asked it to make a slow-motion gif of the part where the hummingbird sticks its tongue out. And it did. I dunno, we might be in The Future™️

Cross posting margin highlights to bluesky is pretty neat but I suppose this particular one has a bit of a Michael Scott quoting Wayne Gretsky vibe

Detroit Squirrel update: The Tigers' entire grounds crew went out on the field to try to get that thing out of there and all that's missing is the Benny Hill theme

Costco changed their bagel packaging from 12 bagels to 8 and while I'm sure that's probably shrinkflation, it's now small enough that we can finish them all before they go stale and still cheaper than the grocery store so I'm ok with it
