The student list massively outspent Vucic online during the campaign. Lots of enthusiasm for change it appears.

Looks from this chart as if Bolsonaro had greater resources for both rounds of the Brazilian presidential election (data lags by a few days, so we won't know for sure until Weds).

Head-to-head comparison of US digital political ad spend in the equivalent periods in 2024 and 2026. Spending this year is around 50% of the presidential campaign year. The difference is largely the absence of a Democratic presidential campaign - Harris bought 1/3 of all ads in 2024.

In short, it's not a presidential campaign season, but these midterms aren't a million miles off it. Huge Republican PAC spending (Trump, Musk) plus many states and seats in play.

Today, a judge in New Mexico ordered Meta to pay $25 billion for misleading users on data privacy and a range of other statements that a jury deemed deceptive (and willfully so). Last month I broke down the jury's determinations on each of the questions posed to it:

Republicans spent just $160,000 on ads mentioning Donald Trump last week, while Democrats spent $7,000,000. It's a clear sign the president's own party considers him a liability in the midterms.

Ads about data centers continue to grow in reach ahead of the US midterms. Important trend - more campaigns getting on board, driven by Democratic campaigns and PACs.

More ads from Reform this morning - on fuel duty cuts and shutting down the asylum system. Their average daily spend on Meta this week is around £7,500, way more than anyone else.

And now going after Ed Davey and the Liberal Democrats too. A party remembering where they might have mislaid their votes.

Little factoid - based on the postcode targeting, the ad *doesn't* target Farage's constituency of Clacton (but it does target 294 others in England).

Despite heavy spending by Elon Musk's America PAC, Democrats and their aligned PACs bought many more ads than Republicans on Meta and Google over the last month.

Based on the postcode targeting of their most recent digital ads, these are the 328 parliamentary seats in England and Wales that Reform are currently targeting.

With election spending limits increased by the last Conservative government in 2023, and more money than ever flowing into British politics, you might assume the cost of campaigning had risen dramatically too. You'd be wrong. It's time to rethink the rules.

Huh, Restore Britain Clacton branch has started running ads. There will be no pact on the right if Farage is forced to fight a second by election.

An interesting example is the US Senate seat in Texas, where Republican PACs (mainly Trump's and Musk's) are hammering the Democrat, James Talarico, to the tune of $10m a month of online ads. Yet, in the polls, Talarico seems comfortably ahead.

Reform's resources are allowing them to run many ad campaigns at once. 1/ A variety of attacks on Labour/Burnham, primarily on immigration, along with some on pensions.

The party's ad activity is back to the heights of earlier in the month, when they were spending around £8k per day on Meta ads. Over the past three months, 44% of all UK online political advertising has been from Reform.

Reform just launched Facebook ads *specifically* targeting the Gosport area (PO12-14 postcodes), scene of repeated protests against the arrival of small boats.

For obvious reasons, Bosnia has a complex and multilayered electoral system, so we are extremely grateful to our election observation partner on the ground for putting all this data together. Keeping track of what's going on is a team effort!
