batman looks retroactively less insane now that in the dc timeline superheroes existed long before bruce was born and he probably lived through some heroes operating in gotham
just watched captain marvel for the first time and the way people talked about it i fully thought it was gonna be for real dogshit but it wasn't even that bad
receiver 2 is a game that i love and is wholly unique in both feel and style and also i've played it so much that theres nothing left to discover and now im mourning
it's also the perfect example of how mechanical depth can make an otherwise simple gameplay loop incredibly satisfying. learning how to operate the guns under stress is so rewarding even though all you're really doing is shooting turrets and collecting tapes in the same like 5 locations
was reading rebirth nightwing and having a good time reading my action slop until i remembered they turn him into ric grayson and he's genuinely useless for like 30 issues
i feel like the easiest way for me to explain pathological demand avoidance to someone is by saying "im not allowed" instead of just refusing to do something
why dont games based on comic characters do the cel shading style more often. like the only two games i can even think of are the telltale batman/walking dead games and that one hellboy game and they both LOOK pretty good ignoring the gameplay
update: tom king's batman sucks (obv), all-star batman was pretty good (pictured), batgirl is kinda mid so far, nightwing might be the only good ongoing tbh.
i also really dislike that batgirl gets relegated to being basically a YA graphic novel where her being a superhero is kinda just a plot device. i think it's a step up from batgirl of burnside but doesnt quite reach gail simone's run imo.

DETECTIVE COMICS IS ALSO GOATED DURING THIS ERA i LOVE james tynion's writing and i love that 'tec was about batwoman and her team instead of just being another batman ongoing

i really like that scott snyder isn't afraid of the silly/campy stuff while also not leaning too hard on it. i feel like snyder is the polar opposite of king in that with king's more comedic moments, everything stops to acknowledge that something funny happened
saw my kitchen manager smoking a joint outside. went inside just to see our bar manager taking shots before his shift starts. am i the only sober person left alive
