Tearing down the White House, sending the military into American cities, bombing civilian boats, indiscriminately pardoning convicted felons... Is there ANYTHING a U.S. President can't do if he wants to? Was our entire Democracy always held together by the mere presumption of Presidential sanity?

ABC News pulled the satellite imagery of the White House comparing Sept. 26 to today. abcnews.go.com/Politics/new...

How can anyone watch this and not see that we live in a two-tiered society? If this were a non-white minority responding this way he would have been ripped out of that car and slammed to the ground in under 10 seconds.

That's a good thing. 1.0 was miserable, but bearable. 2.0 is a full-on dystopian nightmare that only the most reprehensible will be able to tolerate in the long run. These psychopaths think they have a green light to do anything they want now. In the end, they will find out they do not.

Trump 2.0 is so much worse than 1.0 it’s hard to really grasp.

Infuriating that there are so few Pritzkers out there right now. Every Governor and every Mayor in every blue (read sane) state and city in the United States should be speaking out this agressively.

Pritzker: "If the Constitution means anything -- and I guess we all are questioning that right now -- the Insurrection Act cannot be invoked ... they just want troops on the ground because they want to militarize especially blue cities in blue states."

bsky.app/profile/mmas.... Same playbook as "If you criticize the actions of the Israeli Government, you support terrorism."

Stephen Miller's latest method of attacking free speech is falsely claiming that any criticism of authoritarianism incites violence (which isn't even the full Brandenburg standard anyway, but also... is wrong).

It's clear now that "international law" was always nothing more than a euphemism for whatever the United States allows.

Trump to the UN: "There aren't too many boats that are traveling on the seas by Venezuela. They tend not to want to travel very quickly anymore."

It turns out it's not just the middle of 5th Avenue where Trump can shoot somebody with no consequence whatsoever. It's anywhere in the world.

bsky.app/profile/atru... The day this swine was allowed to flout all standards of decency and respect at the Repuplican presidential debate, was the beginning of the end for the U.S. And legitimizing him at international forums like the U.N. was the beginning of the end for the world.

Trump to the UN: "The 'carbon footprint' is a hoax made up by people with evil intentions, and they're heading down a path of total destruction."

As a general rule, it can be assumed that any sentence that starts with, "Every Republican in Congress should..." will be concluded with something that has absolutely no chance of being done.

Judd Legum@juddlegum.bsky.social

Every Republican in Congress should be asked if they agree with Trump that it’s a “good thing” if truck drivers and dockworkers lose their jobs

I know this is pedantic, but every time I see this phrase, I think, shouldn't it just be "Promises kept"? Isn't the "Promises made" part sine qua non?

Good to point out Trump‘s silence, but the use of the word “they” in this context is not doing the truth any favors. As far as we know, it was a lone maniac.

Trump may be a moron, but he's a moron with a preternatural understanding of the minds of other morons. They want easy answers, they want to be led, they want to believe they are better than the people that are better than them. There are a lot of morons in America.

You are up to date.
