On my website, wellandbooks.com/stories, you can find three free stories: Almost the Summer of Love, A Hopper Triptych, and The Flight of the Bumble Bee. I hope you enjoy them. #BookSky #IndieAuthor #ShortStories #Fiction

Another village pub is set to disappear. This one next to where I grew up. In my village one of the two pubs has gone and on average, 2 pubs a day in the UK close their doors forever. Rural communities are priced our of their own villages and a way of life is ending. #VillagePubs #RuralCommunities

Don't know why, but these pics from Easter week in Andalusia got a ton of likes from Musk, Trump, Miller and most MAGA people! Could it have something to do with the hoods, perhaps? #VoteBlue #Vote #DefundtheGOP

A personal memory from my time in Russia—a real-life mystery that I still can't logically explain. Ghost story or coincidence? #WritingCommunity #GhostStory #CreativeNonfiction #HalloweenStory

Where are my cats? Found them! On my bed! They are sisters my wife rescued from a dumpster when they were a day old. The black and white one, Canela (the other one is Lenteja) was the inspiration for my oldest son to create the cover of my book, The Book Abattoir #cats #Caturday #amwriting

Another nice evening in our part of Andalusia, although it's getting cooler! #Andalusia #StreetPhotography #sunset

Brilliant sunshine in our corner of Andalusia today, so here are some Spanish Shadows (good name for a story?). #Andalusia #StreetPhotography #Spain #IndieAuthor

@greatdetective.bsky.social Do you know this one, Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries? I saw it when I was in Australia and got hooked. Sexy, stylish and Essie Davis is excellent. The Hispano-Suissa car impressed me so much that I wrote it into one of my books! #greatdetectives

My new book, The Monteverde Chronicles arrived! #BookSky #IndieAuthor #Amwriting #WritingCommunity

Evening in a village very much like Monteverde. The Monteverde Chronicles, available on Amazon now. #BookSky #IndieAuthor #VillageTales #NewBook

@greatdetective.bsky.social Baretta.Another detective for the archive. I remember watching this with my mum when I was about 10.

The Book Abattoir with the amended cover designed by my son, Michael arrived. It's on Amazon as are all four of my books. Happy author! ##BookSky #Thriller #booksaboutbooks #IndieAuthor

Yes. I used AI, but I'm guessing so did Katie. #imareallawyer #fraud #unqualified

On this Day in 1066, the Battle of Hastings took place. Owing to French duplicity and the English sense of fair play, the Normans (William The Conqueror) emerged victorious against the Saxons (King Harold) and celebrated not with champagne, but with a tapestry! #Hastings #1066andAllThat #History

Just a few of my wife, Paula's paintings. She sometimes lacks the confidence to trust her imagination, but I love what she does. She loves Bob Ross and a lot of her work seems to take real things a make them feel as if in a dream. I love it and her. #Art #Painting #OriginalArt #ArtistsOnBluesky

Cat siesta on my bed. #Caturday

View from outside the cemetery in our village. The dead get the best views! #Andalucia ##streetphotography

@greatdetective.bsky.social I discovered Laura when I moved to Spain. Excellent series. Great detective.

Just some scenes on the street where I live. No larks or lilac trees, though. #Andalucia #streetphotography #sunnyautumn #amwriting

Actually made it outside today. I have hydrocephalus and I have almost zero balance. I use a stick and am mostly housebound, which is awful for my muscles, but great for my writing! These pics are in the village where we live. Still sunny and 23 degrees! #Andalucia #streetphotography #Spain

Why is it I can recall things from over 50 years ago, like my mum taking us to school in a green Sunbeam Rapier with cream interior and the number plate WFL 66H with Gilbert Bécaud singing "A Little Love and Understanding" on the radio, and I can't remember whether I took my pills this morning?

Even though I am sixty, and have awful mobility, the temptation to clamber all over this straw stack near us this summer was strong. Alas the spirit was willing but the flesh was knackered! #Spanishsummer #Andalusia

I was recently asked what inspired my short novel, The Book Abattoir and it was this article on the BBC website about destructive scanning, which is a chilling prospect. www.bbc.com/news/article... I liken it to squeezing all of the juice from an orange, keeping the juice and throwing away the rest.

After four and a half months without a drop of rain, we seem to be getting the lot today. The cats are hiding, the patio is flooded and the back door blew shut and we couldn't budge it! #Autumn

@greatdetective.bsky.social Walter Hartright, from the Woman in White, the prototype detective. 1860 And Porfiry Petrovich from Crime and Punishment 1866 Very nice site. Thank you!

Sisters. Canela and Lenteja. Our cats. Rescued from a dumpster at a day old, now five years old. Because - cats. #Cats #sisters

Sir Ian McKellen orates 'The Stranger's Case' from 'Sir Thomas More' by Shakespeare about the Evil May Day xenophobic riot of 1517 in London. This passage was written 400 years ago, but times never change. Humanity refuses to change its unwarranted bias against 'others'.

So, my thirteen year-old son was speaking to a teacher today about Halloween. The teacher asked if he was going to bring anything scary to class. He replied "yes, the electricity bill!" #humor #humour #kids #Halloween

Book blogger to me, "Number 559,871 in paperbacks on Amazon. You must be so proud. How does your wife feel about it?" Me, "She is Colombian. She doesn't read English. She said she was happy about that." www.amazon.co.uk/dp/8409902567 #BookSky #IndieAuthor #irony #IndieAuthor

Update! This week we started drilling wheat. This involves buying the seed, then drilling it & waiting about 10 months for it to grow...not knowing how much it will cost us to grow, how much will grow & how much it will be worth at the end of it all! I think this is a definition of madness!

In 1940, with fascism raging across Europe, the world's most famous silent movie actor spoke out. Five years later the shameless liar Charlie Chaplin mocked in The Great Dictator, who persuaded a third of Germans that whoever opposed him was their enemy, celebrated his "winning" by killing himself.

As it's Tolkein week, I came across this article on the BBC. In my mind, whenever Gollum speaks, it's with a Welsh accent! "My precious." #tolkein #lotr #classicbooks www.bbc.com/culture/arti...

That's why it's always good to take the time to root through the book bins and shelves in all the charity shops. You never know when you may strike gold. #bookshops #reading www.bbc.com/news/article...

Shout out to the slightly built "heavies" of #Noir Harry Lewis and Elisha Cook. Made great films even better. #classichollywood #oldmovies
