I didn't expect Star Trek to be a turning point for red in Commander, but here we are! These cards are exciting, powerful, and feel very red!

Been working on a quick redraft of Odds and Ends (including as many of the other Cavolo cards as possible) and this is what came out! I wanted a low power deck that's fun to play, containing cards I want to play with. Haven't driven it yet, but excited to break it out. archidekt.com/decks/272935...

If you were going to design a set of Commander Anthology to come out next year, what would you put in it? Mine would be: Omo Kotori Valgavoth Breena

Teferi’s Protection, Fierce Guardianship, Toxic Deluge: Without Commander precons we wouldn’t have a ton of the format’s foremost staples. This episode, we delved through ALL 150+ PRECONS to find you the very best new card from each one. Check it out: youtu.be/_psv_eV3JIE?...

BRAND NEW NARRATIVE FOR A UB SET? THAT RULES!

Magic: The Gathering@magic.wizards.com

Marvel magic comes to Magic: The Gathering. An original narrative, new looks for beloved characters, and more await you in Marvel: Darkhold Destiny. #MTGxDarkhold

Yesterday, in a Commander game, I watched a deck steal my Grandma, load her into a cannon and shoot her at another Grandma. Magic is good.

"I have a deck you can borrow." *Its mana base*

There are now 22 lands that ask you to choose a color when they enter. This means we are getting closer to building a deck with the ✨perfect✨ mana base.

My favorite Commanders give you a hoop to jump through or an extra problem to solve. I've been working on a Grandmother Goby list for a little while and it has been a tough nut to crack, but I'm getting pretty close. Let me know what you think! archidekt.com/decks/249805...

archidekt.comGrandmother Goby's Merfscape • (Mono-Blue Commander deck) • ArchidektGrandmother Goby - Commander deck (1) Commander • (4) Can't Be Countered • (10) Draw • (13) Enhancers • (39) Land • (5) Mass Disruption • (9) Ramp • (1) Recursion • (19) Targeted Disruption • (1) T...

Played this updated Grandmother Goby list for the first time today and attacked with 18 23/23 Merfolk tokens, so a very successful first game! It's pretty inconsistent in goldfishing, so looking forward to getting another game in with it.

In this episode, I tease the deck I built for the Reality Fracture Game Knights: Codie, Ravenous Codex and his companion Umori! The deck's spells are 100% creatures and the deck cares all about... NONcreatures! Can't wait for y'all to see it!

Bad news: Jace has broken the multiverse. Good news: YOU get some broken new Commanders to play with! This episode, we're breaking down the Most Powerful Legends from Reality Fracture. Don't miss it: youtu.be/8-vyTDVOOOE

We don't make videos, we don't podcast, we just let the writers write. We're trying to prove that there's still an audience for written work about a thing we all love and word of mouth helped us sell nearly a thousand issues last time. It would rule to get over that line this time around.

IT'S HERE. Reality Fracture is a banner set and it made for a BANGER of a Game Knights. I'm obsessed with literally all of these decks (3/4 are 6-drop Commanders?!). Plus, @matthewmercer.bsky.social is as lovely as you think. It was a real pleasure getting to game with him.

We hit a Nat 20 for Reality Fracture because @matthewmercer.bsky.social is joining the party for an epic Game Knights battle to determine the fate of the entire multiverse! Don't miss this wild game with as many twists and turns as any Critical Role campaign: youtu.be/6ibfhMHFQoE

Doing research on Scryfall for a future episode and I realized: There have been MORE new Legendary Creatures printed in 2026 than Non-Legendary Creatures. I knew it was bad, but... damn.

This is going to have to be my final Powered Cube deck before Reality Fracture. The deck was completely filthy and I drew completely filthy. It is both the reason to play Vintage Cube and the reason NOT to play Vintage Cube.

On turn one in my first game with it, I played mountain, Mox Pearl, Black Lotus, Chandra, Torch of Defiance, made mana with Chandra, played Laelia, and attacked.

I've been thinking about a fractured version of my Dragon's Approach deck with Sphinx's Approach (currently Uldaros Theorix). There are some great sphinxes to tutor up: Sphinx of the Chimes, Second Sun, and Consecrated Sphinx. But the one that is making me laugh the most is Conundrum Sphinx.

Folks keep talking about using this on a player's upkeep, but if I'm the protected player, I'm happy to just draw, play a land and pass, knowing I'm good for a turn rotation. If I have one, I'd be SLAMMING a board wipe or a big draw spell.

For the record, I am very into the design of this card. It is super bizarre and likely reliably powerful in some future contexts. But I'm not seeing the line right now.

Venser is super sweet and can definitely swing the game in your favor, but you better cross your fingies that your opponent doesn't have a clone. They will make INFINITE COPIES OF ALL PERMANENTS ON THE BOARD WITH HASTE.

Doing research for this episode made me want to go back and update all my decks. I know 100 content creators have told you to run more removal, but give this ep a chance. Thinking intentionally about your disruption suite makes deckbuilding more interesting and more personal.

The Command Zone@commandcast.bsky.social

“In Response!” If you’ve never said those two fateful words, you’re not winning as many Commander games as you should. A solid gameplan needs a strong disruption package to back it up, so today we’re breaking down how to build a complete suite of interaction. Watch it now: youtu.be/LDkLS6fo6cU

Heading home after a successful Commander Summit! Thanks to Wizards for opening their doors to us and facilitating such great discussion. This is an amazing group of folks who really care about this format and its players. Nothing to share just yet, but hopefully soon!

On my way to Seattle! We meet tomorrow. This is your last call for thoughts, feelings, and questions about the state of Commander, the brackets, the ban list, and more.

Lost an old friend yesterday and sometimes it just bums me out how atomizing and separated life is past a certain age. All I want to do is be with our people and everybody's spread to the damn winds and buried under shit to do. You wedge your grief into the time between errands. Time's an asshole.
