“People across the province are sending a clear message to the Ford government: Ontario’s students deserve better, and publicly funded education is worth investing in.” Read more about the rallies and what education workers are fighting for: bit.ly/4jFEDUi #OSSTF #OntEd #OntEdUnited

Yes though from the Toronto context, I think the left here often gets to "explain why it has happened" and then assume the argument is over; a lot of time and words were expended explaining why Rob Ford's criticisms of City Hall lacked important context and basically none of it mattered.

“If you are staring at an example of social disorder or social inefficiency, and the left refuses to explain either why it has happened or how they will fix it, then the right gets to point at someone in the immediate area and say, ‘That’s who did it.’” crazy how much Mamdani speaks my language

Recently, I received an email from the group "Parents as First Educators", inviting me to seek endorsement by supporting their policies. I refused. The policies would reduce vaccination rates and, as a result, *increase* rates of childhood illness - even death. I will never vote to make kids sick

Over the last year, 1,054 people have died of COVID in Canada - five of them children. Get your flu and COVID boosters at a pharmacy near you. 2026 formulations are now available. If you have children over 6 months of age, they can and should be boosted against both diseases as well.

SURVEY: Help shape research on school violence in Ontario. OSSTF/FEESO is encouraging K-12 members - teachers & education workers - to take part in a new study on educators’ experiences with school violence, prevention policies, and reporting practices. More info: bit.ly/4a9mmYT #OSSTF #OntEd

Did you know that pregnant staff, aging educators, and asthmatic students suffer disproportionately in extreme classroom heat? 🌡️ Ontario must address IAQ comprehensively to ensure safe temperatures AND clean air for all. Modernizing IAQ is basic health and safety. thenarwhal.ca/ontario-peel...

The Solar Schools program has been a big success, slashing energy costs and reducing carbon emissions by over 8,000 tonnes a year. But it was cancelled in 2018, with just over half of TDSB schools completed. It's time resume and complete the project on the remaining 200+ buildings.

Challenging times call for capable hands. I have a proven record of organizing communities just like ours to advocate & win, and years of governance experience on non-profit boards in South Etobicoke. My name is Tim Ellis, and I'm running to be our TDSB Ward 2 Trustee - for my kids, and yours.

My son and I had a great time celebrating Ukrainian culture and independence this weekend at Centennial Park in Etobicoke Centre. Ukraine is on the front lines of the global struggle for democracy, defending not only their own homes but also our own freedom and security. Canada stands with Ukraine.

You are up to date.
