2026 Game Completion Thread: 1) Octopath Traveler 0 (2/6) I genuinely went from being meh on this game to souring on the genre as a whole for a bit because of it. It's a genuine slog to play through, and the narrative is probably one of the most cliche. Wasn't a fan of any of the characters.

The only thing that bothers me about the Ocarina of Time remake is the fact that they make the wet characters look like they're oiled up 😭

It's interesting how the big "controversies" of Fortune's Weave so far are Engage fans bickering with Three Houses fans, and the whole DLC announcement. I keep seeing people mention how Fortune's Weave's gameplay is just "Gacha dailies," and these people are fans of Engage. The game that literally

It's interesting how BlueSky is trying to get people to use an Ai vibe-coding "tool" on Twitter because they're too scared to post it on their own site. They know that the audience they built hates GenAi, and so they have to covertly advertise it on other platforms.

The original God of War marketing campaign was genuinely wild. Can't believe that it took this long for this Ad to resurface.

Man, console wars era videogame ads were WILD, like what is this????

You guys ever think about how Rich people don't even try to pretend to be human anymore? It used to be a case where shows like "Undercover Boss" would exist just to give good PR to CEOs of corporations and make them look like they were humans giving back to other humans that they exploited.

Now CEOs just openly tell people that they despise them, say off-colored things, and then fire most of their staff without even caring about what others think of them.

The music is fine, and one of the locations towards the very end was pretty cool, but that's about all I can really say that I enjoyed about this one unfortunately.

2) God of War 2018 (3/7) God of War 2018 is a fine game, although the Norse saga as a whole tends to feel like it's a bit more generic than the previous entries in the series. It's stuck with an over-the-shoulder camera perspective, and the puzzles are fairly simple to boot. The story is-

I will put it out there again. I never have and never will use AI code on Serebii. I like my messy, bloated, buggy code to be man made

This industry is falling apart We have mass layoffs causing talented people to leave the industry, then we have stuff like this which will cause talented people to leave the industry It absolutely sucks and I hate to see it. AI code is bloated, messy and buggy. These games will suck.

Bloomberg: Epic Games is going all in on AI as an unannounced shooter featuring Marvel & Star Wars characters is implementing an "AI first" production model "generated with full AI workflows". "No more hand-written code", said one of the directors to staff. ➡️ www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

I am still inactive because of Fire Emblem, but I want to say that this game is so much better than Three Houses. Like the writing is far more competent, and the routes are actually waaaaaaay nicer in terms of how they're composed.

Its funny that the developers hated this one dude in Fortune's Weave so much that they only gave him a single Support. Sometimes I think some of the units were only put into this game to be fodder for specific maps.

I still have yet to get my copy in the mail. FedEx originally had the time of delivery at 8:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m., and now it got pushed back to between 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. At least its still coming today, but I have to keep reminding myself to avoid looking at Fire Emblem stuff out of boredom.

I mean, he isn't necessarily wrong. The video game industry is falling apart because of endless human greed. These rich CEOs are scared of taking risks because the budgets for modern games are over-inflated. They're scared to reduce budgets, because graphics are the thing that sells games now.

Sakurai Believes Industry Will "Slowly Die" Without Innovation As He Discontinues Game Designers Award (Repost)

This isn't getting into the fact that the demographic of video game players is an aging one. Most of younger Gen Z and Gen Alpha play free-to-play games now, because video game costs are rising, and it takes 5-7 years for a new entry to be made in a series now which kills brand relevance.

There needs to be massive changes made within the industry in order for it to continue thriving, and at this point in time- I can't see it getting any better (much like everything else under Capitalism).

Its insane how many people can't read in this day and age. They just look at the headline and then make a snarky comment about how this is bad, without even reading the contents of the article that detail why this is the case.
