TIL that the `which` command has a flag, `-a`, which shows all possible places from which a command might be found, e.g., $ which -a python /opt/homebrew/opt/python3/libexec/bin/python /usr/local/bin/python /Users/willf/.local/bin/python

The Goose team has been doing an incredible job building out its capabilities and smoothing the rough edges. @angiejones.tech and team have done a great job in the last month or so in bolstering the docs for both beginner and advanced users as well as providing great video content.

🔥 Goose + Google Drive MCP = Next-Level AI Automation! By enabling the Google Drive extension, Goose can fetch, analyze, and act on your files, directly from your Drive. Watch Goose in action and imagine what YOU could automate! What’s your first use case? 🚀

There is discipline in selling or giving away your gadgets while they still have value but you aren’t using them. I lack this discipline and end up with lots of unusable gadgets.

Took me longer than I would have liked to give FastMCP a try but from start to finish it took me about 30m to implement, test and leverage my implementation inside of Goose. Most of the time was spent futzing with my own dependencies. This was a really eye opening experience end-to-end.

We're working on our schema management story and someone just came up with the most cursed way to describe how we might aggregate our various schema types... Schema Lake

I just used the phrase "i'll look through my rolodex" and realized that the other person had literally no idea what I was talking about. I never had one personally but remember flipping though these as a fidget whenever I was talking to someone with one on their desk. Anybody else remember these?

What are the most popular Kubernetes configuration linting tools and what do they do? Which ones are configured using JSON / YAML and which ones use DSLs such as Rego? Do you know of some good tools that I didn't include? itnext.io/kubernetes-c... #kubernetes #infrastructureascode #policyascode

Very excited to try this out! A missing piece for me with LLMs has been how to easily connect my world to it. This seems to fit the bill and Claude has been my favorite for most activities.

Jeremiah Lowin@jlowin.dev

So MCP servers are really cool for giving your LLMs superpowers... but also pretty complex to build and debug. I created FastMCP to make it easy. Let me know what you think! github.com/jlowin/fastmcp

I know it could be me, but I really would so much like "the curl-er's guide to #atproto". I get the atproto docs reasonably but still unclear as heck what xrpc calls to start from, if say I want to sync a PDS.

We all know those people who seem to have the best ideas or the best taste, combined with the ability to make real stuff. We need more of these of people. We also need more people who raise the tide. Those who make everyone around them better.

but did we reduce the toil along the way???

Platform engineers often speak of building a "Golden Path" of recommended languages and tools This is a reference to Dune, where the concept was invented by a worm on drugs and following it led to the deaths of hundreds of billions

I was excited to see some old friends on here… Even more exciting is getting introduced to some new smart folks to follow. Thanks @savannah.dev!

The Python starter pack is almost FULL! In the next week or so, I'll probably see who's been inactive for a long while and prune the list a bit so we can keep it fresh and valuable for folks! go.bsky.app/LAkKWpR

UCSB Physics 3 Final, the last in the Physics track that I needed to graduate. Studied so so hard. Got to the test and the questions felt second nature. I was in my flow. Finished 1st. Felt so good to “nail” it and be done with finals. Got a 26% and went from B->D. Still got the credits. 😅

When I was at Berkeley, the night before a midterm, there was a double homicide two blocks from me. I was crime reporter at the paper so I ran to that instead of studying. Next day, I raced through it and thought I aced the test. But I got a 19/100. I thought it was a 79/100, but nope. 19.

One of the greatest skills is knowing how to nerd snipe the right people at just the right time... It's a game changer when someone has the curiosity, capability, and capacity to build the thing that needs building.

I want to be very clear about something. The fact that I don't want to listen to your bullshit is not censorship. In fact, it's speech. It's also speech if tell other people I don't want to listen to your bullshit.

Major kudos to the blue sky folks for how their arch handled this explosive growth (yes even tho they had downtime today) and I love how open they are when things are having issues. It makes the SRE nerd in me v happy.
