Version 0.2 of my handheld photogrammetry rig for my GFX100 is almost done! Just gotta take the plunge of like $2500 NZD to get the 3 AD200Pro IIs. Tax refund season soon! It uses a mix of Small Rig which i love, and a new contenter called Camvate for the big handled rig, micro bars and coldshoes.

@rootapp.com Is there any plans to allow self hosting locally? I know people that really want the option to be able to self host to foot the performance hit /'bill' for things like high resoltion screen sharing and data backup.

@tylerbaikie.bsky.social Thanks for the help with exposing me to the custom stuff of 'cheese plates'. Before i was looking at going through a dental rig which seemed like a nightmare in comparison to this 0.1 was the same rig but trying to make a single double 15mm rail clamp work. Not enough 1/4s!

HA! V0.3 already, chucked on a Sunayfoto pano base plate on the bottom, and now it fits in my arca swiss style tripod. Which means things like texture photography can be locked in and dont need to change the rig. HDRi macbeth infront of 90mm for Comedic Effect.

I wish friends and family care about anything other than the Oscars. While the nominations are very well thought out normally, it feels like the voting is how much the academy likes the film in general than well informed voting on innovation and scope achieved.

Fab account created a verified. Means I’ll need to actually finish my vfx tagging, barcode and library system sometime soon so I can start sharing things instead of terabytes of 102mp images just sitting in archive waiting to be processed.

Jumping back into #Postgres from a cutting edge database solution really does feel like coming home. Navicat, pgAdmin, dbVisualiser, schemaSpy, appsmith not needing middleware for prototyping. And ULIDs for IDs! Only bug bear is third party tools never parsing inherits for data modelling.

I think I’m going to swap again back to #postgres . I gave #surrealDB a good shot and it’s helped me understand some new concepts but the overhead for what I need just for my basic crud vfx library has pushed me back a ton in between 60 hour weeks at work. Being able to use ULIDs or UUID7s again!

I’m stuck in a limbo of #surrealDB edge table making. To reuse an edge table for similar things with the same verb, or alter the verb to specify the verb subject.

manifest, file, file_set, and path all could potentially use the lists edge table, and the business rules would be fine with it, but at that point why not make every verb that’s dealing with hierarchy relations into one edge table. I know the logic but the semantics do my head in sometimes.
