Nightshift magazine is a monthly window on Oxford’s music scene. This month our Waxwings synthpop remix gets a nice write up: “Richard Hawley fronting a soft-focus version of The Human League”… love that!😊 Nightshift: nightshiftmag.co.uk/2026/feb.pdf Waxwings synthpop remix: song.link/i/1855311729

Really looking forward to this, our first gig in a few months and great to be playing with guys we’ve known since Liverpool back in the 80s. Small capacity venue - get your tickets while they last…😘 🎫 www.skiddle.com/whats-on/Lon...

THIS is why we got a 7” single done!😊 (PS we have 4 left on our Bandcamp page… vernonsfuture.bandcamp.com/album/waxwings-steerpike )

A beautiful song by @vernonsfuture.bsky.social As discovered on #FreshIngredients radio show by @assistant.bandcamp.com vernonsfuture.bandcamp.com/track/waxwings

One of the best indie pop songs of recent years next: the extraordinary Waxwings by @vernonsfuture.bsky.social is on at the moment. Recently pressed on to 7" and so so worth getting. I hear lots of @lovejoy-official.bsky.social & Julian Cope in this one. Insanely gorgeous. #freshingredients

First off, if you’ve not hear Assistant then check them out. You can thank us later. Secondly, they have a radio show and we’re chuffed to be on this Sunday’s edition. Thank you, guys😊

Hey. Did you hear our new remix yet?🤔 🎧 song.link/i/1855311729 #indiemusic #newmusic #waxwings #synthpop #remix

Once more, with feeling❤️ It’s a final gig of the year for us, and we’re back in our spiritual home Liverpool. Catch us on Sat 29/11 at Rough Trade along with dear friends Noel Burke / St Vitus Dance and @creditsband 🎫 dice.fm/event/eol5bw...

On this day in 2020 we put out a pair of songs - B Movie and Waiting at the Station. We’re pleased with how these turned out, and both later appeared on our album Aquaplaning. Happy 5th birthday, babies x 🎧 album.link/i/1643989608

In this week 6 years ago we released two singles: Lights Have Changed and Just Can’t Help Myself. We’ve not played the former live for a while, but the latter has grown to be a live favourite, certainly for us anyway😊 Both subsequently appeared on our 2022 album Aquaplaning… album.link/i/1643989608

Sat 20/9 & we’re supporting our mates @st_vitus_dance_4u as they deliver ‘Noel Burke performs Reverberation’. If you don’t know know it Reverberation is the Bunnymen album where Noel was frontman, & it’s considered a lost classic of psychedelia… tickettailor.com/events/westhampsteadartsclub/1688819

So it’s festival season and we’re getting excited! Having a great time listening to bands with our mates. Why do festivals only issue Spotify playlists? Spotify have a terrible rep and 30% of ppl are using Apple Music🤷‍♂️ @truckfestival.bsky.social @greenmanfest.bsky.social @rockawaybeach.bsky.social

Our gig in Liverpool last November with St Vitus Dance (as ‘Noel Burke performs Reverberation’, the Noel-led Bunnymen album) sold out early. With a couple of months to go until we’re all doing it again in London, get tix before they’re gone… tickettailor.com/checkout/view-event/id/6063402/chk/a2b0/
