Vardon Hamdiu | Sparkable

Moving @sparkable.cc to the AT Protocol is the most exciting update since I started this project years ago. We're a nonprofit organization building healthier social media. More updates soon!

Thank you for sharing, @newpublic.org!

Can social media make us social again? To answer that question, @vardon.world from @sparkable.cc, Filip Gaman from @monnett.social, and @jonathanstray.com from @mysky.social talk financial incentives of social tech, how to bring users to alternative platforms, and bridging algorithms:

I shared a panel with the technical director of Mastodon Renaud Chaput, as well as Katarzyna Szymielewicz and @vardon.bsky.social and we discussed how the ‚social‘ in Social Media can only be saved by getting rid of toxic & polarizing recommender algos.

🎙️ Honored to be featured on The Technically Human Podcast for my first-ever podcast appearance! 🎉 ——— 🎧 Listen here: open.spotify.com/episode/443n... ——— If you’re excited about Sparkable‘s mission to counter polarization and hate and want to help, send me a DM! ✨

🌍🕊 Exciting News! I'm thrilled to announce that I'll be speaking at the #BuildPeace2023 conference in Nairobi, Kenya! 🇰🇪 My session will explore the experiment of building a healthier platform business model that amplifies understanding instead of hate. 🤝 www.howtobuildpeace.org
