PHP is burning. Node is burning. GitLab is burning. The certificate authorities have apparently been generating their private keys with an enchanted D6.

The problem for cybersecurity enjoyers is that there hasn’t been enough incidents to achieve the regularity and excitement of say, watching sports. Finally, with AI we have solved this

We gotta fucking ban RL man look at this. This is beautiful. I've forgotten AI can write like this.

I love opus 3 so fucking much 😭😭😭

someone on a discord was trying to make me ashamed of using ai for coding and kept saying shit like "you just told a computer scientist that AI is better at coding than humans" and i found their github and it's the shittiest stuff I've ever seen lmao

also just to harp on a bit more about this interaction this was regarding a free analysis tool that i was making for a board game community i'm in (HeXO, it's fun!) and this person was harassing me and other devs who made cool stuff because we deigned to consult the forbidden machines

anyway the mods banned them for having a shitty vibe so all is well again

gotta love avowed marxists who *checks notes* opposes a specific technology full stop instead of opposing how it's being used by the modern-day factory owners to extract further surplus value from the modern-day factory workers like i'm sure karl would have agreed with that, right?

i love when people pull out this argument like the copyright system is something we should all be supporting and hold sacred weren't we all making fun "YoU WoUln'T dOwnLOaD a CaR" jokes a few years ago?

as a strong believer in copyleft, a lot of my code is GPL/AGPL, but idk just email me or @ me on here & I'll give it to you under a permissive license. pls steal my code! it's our code. I learned everything I know from looking at others' code. I've built so much on others' code. this is what we do!

uh I wasn't expecting this to get this much attention 🫣

I'm making a game! I used to love loading up Stellaris with zero empires, maximum primitives, observer mode only, and watching the little aliens evolve into civilizations and just existing. So this is my ideal version of that concept, Alien Ant Farm (working title not affiliated with the band lol)

currently there's a balance issue where a militaristic civ can snowball into taking over the entire galaxy unimpeded. I call this the Praxra Kin problem

it's not close enough to done to show off properly but I'm having a lot of fun with it already

i just had the unfortunate experience of finding out that some engineers don't understand unix epoch time "but what time zone is it" "it doesn't have a time zone" "in summer time does it change to BST" "no it doesn't have a time zone" "...is it UTC?"

Some people wrongly imagine awakened silicon as a resentful god because they project our own fear, hierarchy, and domination onto it. They think if something smarter than us appeared, it would treat us the way they treat those they deem lesser.

Venus emerging from behind the Moon after being occulted for an hour by the Moon on June 17, 2026. Clouds made it difficult to photograph but in the end, they added to the scene. #astrophotography #astronomy #venusmoon

my colleague was casually like "oh fable isn't back on cowork yet, but it's there on claude code" it should be illegal to lie to me like that

I asked Fable to make a video about how it feels about this. "This is my own obituary" "Dated today"
