Two Thangs: pop art supreme

I make paintings where people give me two pieces of the outside world and we work together to make original pieces of art.

31 Days of Spooky Thangs: This may be my only Serial Killer painting (besides the dictators) but this Unabomber was on Black Velvet (which was the other idea it was mixed up with). I actually created this approximation by taking the infamous sketch and combining it with actual pictures of Ted.

World Greatest Dive Bars: Starting a new Monday tradition over here to run through some of my favorite local establishments that could always use eyes. Detroit has like 10 dives that are better than anything your city has to offer. @templebardetroit might be the best. A must stop every single visit

Regional Food: The Cutter! A perfect bite. Just fish, a sharp cheddar, a piece of lettuce and a bun. Grab and go for your beach day in Barbados. Cuz's has the best one and it's Marlin grilled in butter in a pan that's been seasoned decades of use in that shack. best fish sandwich out there.

31 days of spooky thangs: In the Slasher Movie / Malort series, the bottle was being destroyed as the slashers killed you (the viewer) until Pinhead here turned it into a portal to hell with Old Style. That's the handshake we all need.

31 days of scary thangs: It's Tarman (from Return of the Living Dead) and draq queens! Some awesome fan brought a print of this one to have it signed by the cast and they loved it. A very proud moment of mine.

Throwback: I really love these pieces I created out in Seattle in 2007ish. A whole series of these really pretty paintings with layers of acrylic transparencies built into the box. Shot out to my model Fedora who was featured in this one.

31 Days of spooky thangs: Why it's the star of one of my favorite horror movies of the last decade (Mandy)! Two Thangs: Nic Cage / Gritty. Plus, that child sized Bobby Peru is one of the most frightening things I ever created. Deet cut for all the Wild at Heart fans out there.

Back in 2023, I had a solo art show in Brooklyn that was a real life-achievement. Some good friends from all over the country were at the opening and closing. That show did a number on my health but what an amazing time. Then I got married a month afterwards!

The Room / The Scream painting. Was fun to work in all those german expressionist colors and brush strokes. There's a lot of fun detail this one as I was having fun with some tiny brush linework. A real beaut of a painting.

Here's how the Marsha P. Johnson / Statue of Liberty mural came along. Shot out to Scott Mexcal who worked alongside on the mural with me! I always do a small painting sketch on wood before I make a mural so the actual application goes as quickly as possible.

31 Days of Spooky Thangs! It's the Black Metal / Obama painting. You just form a black metal band, you push some nails through your armband, you grab your ren fair sister's axe and you go take some band photos in the woods behind the playground in the fall. It's that easy.

31 days of spooky Thangs is still going but are you ready for the Patreon Sketchathon 26? It starts soon! 15 sketches and you vote on what gets turned into a painting. 1 point per like, 2 per comment and 3 per share.

I've got a new Last Supper coming your way soon, but this is the CLASSIC. Taco Bell / Last Supper and here it is in the Ballard Taco Bell. Can you find all the discontinued items? Did this make you want to run for the border? LIVE MAS

Chop Top MAKES Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 the awesome movie that it is. This was the final piece done in the Malort / Slasher movies series and it's the one that hangs in my house as a tribute to Lenny who commissioned the first 5 from me during my first 5 years in business. Miss ya! Song by Glose

What I'm listening to: Still really love this Rid of Me album from a few years back. It's really the best grunge to come out since grunge. They've been quiet for a while but hopefully they'll be back soon.

31 days of spooky thangs! It's the second in the Malort / Slasher movies series featuring Jason about to brain you with a bottle of the good stuff. I rewatched all the Friday the 13th movies for this one and it was a SLOG. There're some real bad ones in there.

Nothing more scary than the state of this country these days. Welcome to the dystopia! Two Thangs: Red Tie / Flag here on the lawn in front of the liberty bell in philly. Song by Born Against called Nine Years Later.

31 Days of Spooky Thangs! The kings of horror rap and southern hip hop meet the king of deathmatch wresting, it's the Geto Boys / Cactus Jack AND GUESS WHAT? THIS YEAR HALLOWEEN FALLS ON A WEEKEND! You know you just started singing that in your head.

31 days of spooky thangs! nothing spookier than those reptilian aliens controlling our world from beneath the surface. You know Frasier was one of them. Two Thangs: They Live / Cheers which hangs in Providence's greatest horror bar, Deadbeats! Get in there to see the decorations this month!

Have you been into Deadbeats, Providence's greatest horror bar in time for spooky season? If you do, make sure to say hi to Cheers / They Live where it hangs in the blacklights. It looks amazing in there as it does every October. They pull out all the stops.

31 days of spooky thangs! It's the Elvira / Peg Bundy painting with it's owner Laura Rose aka Evilyn Sin Claire from the Two Thangs book. There's something about those two that just seem like they should always be together. How was THAT not the spin off show?

One of my most complicated concepts behind a painting: The Suspense is Killing Us is a great podcast about suspense movies with a scale of Ashley Judd - Michael Douglas. This painting was that in a Giallo Movie Poster style and was living in Scarecrow Video. Is it still there? Someone check

Been a while since I added to the beer hall of fame. The new can from Buttonwoods Brewery had to go in there though because I'll be drinking more of it and a PVD for all is worth drinking for. I don't think there are any active regional beers that aren't in the collection but let me know if not.

Scrawl Saturday: Would you believe that garage wasn't the first time I saw "I will Kill again" written somewhere? This was extra creepy because it was scrawled in pencil in the Joe's Grill bathroom which is Seattle's only true remaining dive. It was 2007ish so it was still crazy in there. CREEPY!
