We had a small yet crucial service with 3 web hosts. All the three became down at the same time. No HTTP, no SSH 馃槺 No provider incident, all other hosts are up 馃え Reboot, everything up again and stable 馃檭 On call decided it was the fix. But about 24h later, it happened again 馃く #AdrenalineOps

Investigations led to a tricky network configuration issue. We had disabled IPv6 at the kernel level (compliance requirements) but the main interface was configured to use IPv6 and DHCP. Each time the networking stack tries to renew the DHCP lease, it crashed, letting the host without any network.

We disabled IPv6 in the network interface configuration and host kept up and running since then (more than two years). There is still a mystery: why does this work a boot and not later?

Hey #laravel community! The past years, I鈥檝e mainly focused on SPA (Vue.js) powered by Laravel API. For a small project, want to (re)learn Laravel-ish frontend. I know Blade well, I think Livewire is great for what I want to do, but I鈥檓 a bit confused. Do you have some crash course?

To be clear, the docs are remarkable, really. But I lack of architectural concepts. For example, I struggle with reactivity and passing data to child components. Moreover, I think I鈥檝e messed up with Alpine in Livewire components. The paradigm is different from Vue.js, I don鈥檛 really get it yet.

Messing around with @spatie.be鈥檚 data package, what a powerful one! I need to parse some raw txt files, with a very few lines of code, it鈥檚 done! Need to normalize or adapt the data? You鈥檙e covered. Need to nest objects, covered to! Gefeliciteerd en dankjewel! github.com/spatie/larav...
