I'd say that more suburban sprawl is in fact one of the intended consequences of Prop 45. Vote no!

This is ridiculously cool, I love making lil guys that store everything in the URL but I never even CONSIDERED you could do an entire office suite with it! This'll make sharing smol docs so easy!

This is one of the coolest transit priority systems I've seen - a traffic light midway along the road creates a break in traffic for buses to use as a queue jump.

Fascinating article about the virtual contraflow queue-jump (also called "electronic bus overtaking lane" in the article) opened in 2019 between Ehrendingen and Baden in Switzerland. There is also a video showing how it works. www.badenertagblatt.ch/aargau/baden...

The Bay Area public transit #MeasureRTM polling shows 48% support, 34% opposed, 18% undecided. This means only 1 in 9 of the undecideds need to vote YES to get over 50%. Volunteer w the campaign now to help make this happen, opportunities listed here: πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡ luma.com/connectbayarea

A new poll finds 48% support for the Regional Transit Measure, revealing divisions over whether residents should pay more to preserve Bay Area public transportation.

Still in absolute awe of @mysfpuc.bsky.social's Fifield-Cahill Ridge Trail that I hiked on Saturday with a group for Transit Month. What a way to round out the month! The trail requires a docent to protect the rare habitats, which are probably some of the most beautiful I've seen on the peninsula.

The California Coastal Commission has allowed the NPS to reduce the number of parking spots in Stinson Beach for floodwater fixes, despite the loss of public access it entails - and the NPS is interested in collaborating with Marin Transit during peak season πŸ‘€ www.sfchronicle.com/bayarea/arti...

Next stop on my trip: using the special summer shuttle service to hike Puy Mary in the Cantal department, right in the middle of the lesser-known Massif Central. Here, a system of shuttles runs from the town of Aurillac to villages near the mountain, and more shuttles run from those to the summit.

Unfortunately, I was the only person on the shuttle I caught back into town – a lack of good communication made the system nearly impossible to use. They aren't on Google Maps or Transit app, and the website for the shuttle doesn't say where in the village it stops. I had to run to catch it!

This is actually something California does *very* well, in my experience: thanks to federal requirements and Cal-ITP's technical support, even our small agencies publish accurate data that's used by all sorts of trip planning apps.

On the other hand, despite the French government devolving management of regional trains AND regional buses to the same government, the schedules still do not work well together at all, with long waits and missed connections basically a norm.

One of the biggest gaps in California transit right now is the lack of a cohesive intercity network. The Gold Runner already coordinates with lots of regional partners – build on those relationships and add more partners, and such a network begins to take shape! cal.streetsblog.org/2026/08/04/g...
