Transloadit

Most short videos are watched on mute. Transloadit now burns in the captions that keep people watching: big, bold, a few words at a time, with the spoken word lighting up. One command, from upload to captioned video.

Python SDK 2.0 adds AsyncTransloadit: await Assemblies from FastAPI or aiohttp without blocking the event loop, and run uploads concurrently with asyncio.gather. The sync client stays, and 2.0 requires Python 3.12 or newer.

Six video features you may have missed: crossfades, chapter markers, styled subtitles, multi-language HLS audio, CMAF for HLS and DASH, and iPhone recordings that now encode and transcribe.

Frames taken at fixed intervals show whatever is on screen: a product half out of view, a fade, a blink. Set smart: true on /video/thumbs, and a vision model scores candidate frames and returns the best ones, each with a score and the reasons for it.

Cropping one photo into banners, squares, and stories used to mean losing the subject to a center crop. Set gravity: "attention" on /image/resize and Transloadit crops around the most eye-catching part of each image instead.

One command to log in to the Transloadit CLI from your browser, no copied secrets. Then describe a job in plain English, lint and auto-fix Assembly Instructions in CI, process whole folders, and resume uploads that crashed halfway.

Move from Cloudinary, Filestack, Mux, or Uploadcare with migration maps, versioned Templates, and a runnable image backfill. Keep files in your own storage and use one processing usage metric across media types.

/document/extract is now generally available: one Step pulls text (plain or JSON, per page) and embedded images out of PDFs, with OCR fallback for scans, right next to your upload, preview, and storage Steps. Ready for search, RAG, and archives.

Blurry, washed-out uploads? Two Robots improve them inside the Assembly that already resizes and stores your images: /image/enhance restores contrast and color, and /image/upscale enlarges 2× or 4× with Real-ESRGAN. No extra vendor to wire up.

Transloadit now speaks German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and French. The website, docs, and Console are translated, your language choice carries over into the Console, and a shared Console link opens in each teammate’s own language.

Security review coming up? Transloadit now has SAML single sign-on (early access) for Enterprise Workspaces, passkeys for the Console, least-privilege scoped Auth Keys, SHA-384 request signing, and a SOC 2 Type II report on request.

The Transloadit API is now machine-readable: a public OpenAPI 3.1 spec, webhooks included, for typed clients and Postman imports, a JSON Schema to validate Assembly Notifications, and every docs page as Markdown plus llms.txt, so your coding agent reads the real docs.
