Think "Decision Day" doesn't apply to the Chicago [Red] Stars?! You are sadly mistaken! 1. Unless Louisville has 9 more goals scored against them than Chicago does, Chicago will beat their '25 record (54) for the most Goals Against. (Currently, Chicago at 69, Louisville at 60)
2025 Chicago: Last place. Can only go up from here. 2026 Chicago: Bet.
5. A loss will put Chicago at 0.57 Points per Match Played (Pts/MP), breaking the tie to move them into 4th worst (2018 Gotham 0.38, 2018 Spirit 0.46, 2016 Breakers 0.55, 2022 Gotham 0.59). A tie puts them at 0.60 and a win puts them at 0.67 (behind 2013 Spirit 0.64, tied with 2019 Pride & 2021 KC).

Let MN Aurora take on Chicago [Red] Stars. I'm tryna see something...
I very much believe that if you reference Open Cup and FA Cup in your press release about a new tournament that your new tournament should actually resemble those two things and include amateur teams. That's the growth. Not two div. I leagues.

"He has already had conversations with agents about players he is recruiting, including at the U-20 World Cup in Poland, where he was scouting last week." This may be my only "We have X at home" take about Chicago, but I want to see Chicago's U-20 star actually get coached/minutes.
The Chicago Stars are on their way to another last-place finish. Can Vlatko Andonovski turn them back into a contender? #NWSL + his own history say yes—and maybe quickly. Deep dive on what's been wrong in Chicago, how they fix it, and his vision for a (re)new(ed) identity. On @espn.com 👇

With some atrocious losses in the past 4 games, Chicago has now tied its league-worst 54 Goals Against (GA) with 6 games remaining. With a couple Goals For (GF) though, they no longer have the league-worst GF but are tied with 2016 Boston Breakers for 2nd worst.
Chicago is currently -1.67 GD/MP, a league-worst so far. The good news, if there is any, is that they would only be the 4th league-worst Pts/MP if they lose the remaining 6 games, so they've got that going for them, which is nice.
Chicago would need a Goal Differential (GD) of -20 over the next 10 games (or -2 per game) in order to "beat" the 2016 Boston Breakers' record of -1.65 from their current -1.50. With 13 pts, Chicago can't beat 2018 Sky Blue's 0.38 Pts/MP, but they could get second worst if they lose out this season.
Chicago can still have the league-worst GF/MP if they score 0 GF in the remaining 6 games or tie 2018 Washington with 1 GF. Chicago will need 2.75 GA/MP over the next 6 games to get the league-worst GA/MP compared to 2016 Boston Breakers' 2.35. They've had 4.00 GA/MP over the last 5 games.
The Washington Spirit had a league-worst 0.50 Goals For per Match Played (GF/MP) in 2018. Chicago can "beat" that if they score 4 or fewer goals in their remaining 10 games. Boston Breakers still hold the record for worst GA/MP at 2.35, which would take 32 more GA in 10 games, or 3.2 per game.

Let's see just how bad Chicago has been doing: With just 10 games remaining, Chicago only has 9 Goals For (GF). If they score 3 or fewer goals, they will have a league-worst GF, just one season after a league-worst 54 Goals Against (GA).
