@iaindale.bsky.social I think this aspect of ending free movement is not talked about enough. When we had it many Brits took the opportunity to relocate to the EU. This reduced nett migration. I have no evidence but I suspect less Brits emigrate to India, Nigeria etc.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social We did preadoption fostering for about 25 years. About 10 babies in all usually from birth to adoption. The day when the new parents collected the baby was a great day for them. They were so excited. When they left we were left with an empty cot and holding each other in

A few years ago I attended mass in Tours, France. The church had a huge organ which was played magnificently in the service. After the mass I chatted to the Priest with my basic French and made the mistake of admiring his huge organ. He beckoned me to follow him into the vestry.

I followed with some trepidation wondering what was in store for me. He closed the door and fumbled in a drawer in his desk. He pulled out a tape of organ music and charged me 20 Euros!

@mrjamesob.bsky.social A few days ago GB News had Jeff Banks on saying that more and more scientists are saying Net Zero is nonsense! He said he had 5 books written by scientists decrying it! The presenter then suggested that the funding of scientists supporting Net Zero should be investigated.

@lewisgoodall.com Lewis, Esther Rantzen said that without her bill people will die in agony! I have lost several family members who had terminal diagnoses and all died peacefully and pain free due to appropriate and good palliative care.

I've had it with the BBC. Trump posts a disgusting video showing the Obamas as monkeys and not a word on the BBC News at lunchtime! They seem to be running scared since he threatened to sue them!

Being back home for a family celebration we were drawn to Anfield to witness the shock and sadness at the death of Diogo and his brother Andre. People of all ages and nationalities were there many in tears and carrying flowers, mementoes, shirts etc.

Some people may find it hard to understand why this has hit people so hard. When you have a football team you are an integral part of the club - management, players, coaches and fans. We are all in it together! We enjoy success together and face tragedy together.

Before Shankly we were spectators supporting our team. Shankly made us part of the team and this continues. So when a tragedy happens it hits us hard - we feel that we have lost a friend, someone we looked up to and admired- no loved. For each supporter it is a personal loss and we grieve as one!

Seen the curse of Social Media tonight. Instant jumping to conclusion re it is Islamic terrorism and speculation that it is probably someone who came here on a boat. Posts with a picture of a young black man ( originally posted on X) which has been reposted thousands of times of the "driver".

When the police say the driver is a white middle aged male from Merseyside I have seen posts saying it is a cover up and blaming Starmer and the police.
