I finally took the time to write up my thoughts and put together a mixtape for the month of March. This is "In the Underworld of the Long Dark" and I hope you enjoy it if you end up giving it a read and a listen! #musicsky #metalsky #coresky www.tommyokeefe.com/blog/mim-03-...

I now fervently believe this. Relatedly, I think celebrating good news and embracing joy are equally radical. You have to remember what you’re fighting for. We cannot sustainably organize around sorrow.

I’m coming to understand that maintaining hope is radical.

I'm part of the very specific fragment of the population for whom this image is the best joke of the week.

I read Moses Ote Utomi’s excellent novella “Lies of the Ajungo” yesterday. It is unreal how much story and world building he packed into 82 pages. I’ve been thinking about the story and themes all morning. Highly recommended! #booksky 📚💙 bookshop.org/p/books/the-...

This is genuinely infuriating. It’s destroying the fundamental basics of the web. I hate it.

The New York Times is now blocking The Wayback Machine from accessing its articles. That means you'll no longer be able to view archived versions of NYT stories published in 2026 and beyond on archive.org. (All those posts you see tracking changes to NYT headlines and ledes? They relied on WBM).

Last coffee post of the morning - today’s brew is a Counter Culture subscriber exclusive and it’s delicious. I think a I’ve been drinking their coffee for 15+ years now as well! I even got to be a part of selecting them as the provider for NPR’s Coffee Club subscription back when I worked there!

I’ve been slowly reading Francis Weller’s collection of essays titled “In The Absence Of The Ordinary” for the last month or so. It’s full of rich and thought provoking ideas. One that particularly resonates is this idea that grief and sorrow can be an apprenticeship we participate in. #booksky
