Teams at @Mobbin, the UI design reference library, use tldraw’s infinite canvas SDK to curate thousands of design references, annotate UI elements, and benchmark ML models.

Mobbin started from tldraw’s canvas and added custom shapes and logic to fit how its content and ML teams work. Here’s how three engineers shipped two internal tools in less than three months: tldraw.dev/blog/mobbin

Right-click anywhere on the canvas on tldraw.com and choose 'comment' to start one where you are. Right-click a shape and the comment pins to it, no tool switching first.

You can now run embeds inside the new tldraw plugin for @ChatGPT. Here's Astra rendering an ESP32 pet cat app, with her behaviour drawn as a statechart underneath, so it can be checked before it's flashed.

If click away from a comment you were still writing on tldraw.com, the box used to jump to wherever you clicked. It now closes, drops you back on select, and keeps your draft for later.

Coding agents generally are built for a chat log. Working with them on a canvas is a different problem: they need to see what’s there, where it is, and what’s off-screen. @max__drake wrote up how we’ve been building the harness that gives them that context: tldraw.dev/blog/harnes...

The spice must flow, and so must the pipeline. You can build collaborative QBRs in minutes with the tldraw @ChatGPT plugin.

"Hey Codex, show me how you'd fix this bug" The new tldraw plugin lets ChatGPT map a problem on the canvas and sketch a few fixes. Comment on the drawing to ask for changes and watch it update live. Here's Max trying it on one of our bugs:

We spend a lot of time building on the canvas. We write a lot about it, too. In the thread below, a few recent pieces from the archives on AI, agents, and spatial software:

Thanks to everyone who came to celebrate the launch of tldraw flash with us. Looks like flash really did bring some joy back to tech. Keep making good stuff with the canvas.

In the next version of tldraw, locked shapes will be skipped when cycling through shapes with the tab key.

In the next version of tldraw, the "Frame selection" action will support wrapping a single shape in a new frame. Previously, you could only use this operation with multiple shapes selected.

As of this week's release, holding the right shift key while pressing the arrow keys to nudge shapes will do a "big nudge" in the same way as does holding the left shift key. sorry, we're running out of bugs over here

tldraw flash is now live. A new animation tool that lives on the infinite canvas. Draw something, press record, drag it, and watch it come to life. Try it now – it's free.

We are throwing a flash release party next Tuesday, September 15th. Hang out with the tldraw team and other creatives. We'll get into how flash was built, then look at what people around the world have made with it. Bring your own animations (we have got prizes)

In the next version of tldraw, newly created notes will be automatically panned into view.

In the next version of tldraw, the toolbar drag gesture spawns shapes only when the pointer leaves toolbar. This prevents accidental shape spawning, especially on mobile.

We're doing a live session on tldraw flash Thursday, Sept 10, 6pm GMT / 1pm EST. We'll go through how it works, how we built it on the tldraw SDK, and what's coming next.

In the latest release, pressing a keyboard shortcut that includes an arrow key will no longer move selected objects by one pixel. For example, the Space + ➡️ shortcut (move the viewport over) would previously cause the ➡️ shortcut (move selected shapes right) to fire by mistake.

In the next version of tldraw, resizing multiple objects will now move bookmarks and other non-resizable objects instead of keeping them frozen in place.

We’re launching tldraw flash, a new way to animate hand‑drawn ideas on the infinite canvas. Draw a shape, press record, then drag to perform the motion. Trim clips on the timeline, export, and remix.

In case you missed it, our last release allowed geometric shapes to be flipped horizontally or vertically. Surprise your friends with a reverse checkbox.

In case you missed it, our last release added the ability to hold ⌘ or Ctrl while using the drawing tool to hot-swap to the eraser.

In the next version of tldraw, the text and bookmark shapes created by pasting will also be selected. This matches the select-on-paste behavior of other types of shapes.

In the next version of tldraw, pasting from the context menu will center the pasted content on the canvas location where you first opened the menu, rather than on your cursor's position when you clicked Paste.

In the next version of tldraw, your screen's refresh rate no longer affects the speed of edge scrolling.

In the next version of tldraw, your screen's refresh rate no longer affects the friction of camera panning movements.

In the next version of tldraw, uploading multiple files will still succeed even if one of the files is invalid.

In the next version of tldraw, changing the crop aspect ratio of a rotated image no longer causes its center to change.
