Great opening talks by @lookitup.baby and Rick Hudson about the importance of a diverse support community in cybersecurity, not only in terms of gender, sex and race, but also self taught vs degree background. And yes, Fuck ICE, loved to be in the audience for that heh.

More than 4 million people already use EFF’s free tracker-blocking extension to stop companies from spying on them online. Safari users can now install Privacy Badger and join them in the fight against online tracking. www.eff.org/deeplinks/2...

The "Trump Accounts" investment app is a security nightmare. The "LegacyVault" shared with investment app RobinHood, is encrypted with the static passphase: "hNnS24Qi3b3n8n2owu12EYxrp2ckMvrXL4TVwPzf". The QR Contribute links also use a static secret: 8YaZnHrYM3NjLmGAmx6H1wr

Example #998 of Nintendo using Security Through Obscurity, which is never proper security. I don't care how insane it is, some autistic researcher like me, will find it.

Picture from the time we (People more intelligent than me) figured out how Nintendo was flashing the firmware to Wii Us in the factory by sending a special rhythm of voltage through the Battery Connector which put the console into a special mode reading the firmware from the SD card port.

Crocs. Bonus points if you 3D print them in TPU filament. Recently learned there's Carbon Fiber TPU, maybe I should print a pair out of that.

A new translation layer (not an emulator) now runs Xbox One on iOS and macOS, with Minecraft up first, supporting touchscreens and controllers. At this point, almost any game could probably run on anything!

Fortnite expecting me to handle token refreshing when their game opted into quick resume and can't even do it itself. Honestly, Xbox CERT needs to be more extreme. I know some publishers get to skip it but come on. If you use Quick resume, your game should support it. Token refreshing is not hard.

I've officially stopped all current and future research into the Xbox platform and Microsoft products & services a whole. Nothing legal happened, but after 9 years and the frankly abuse and exploitation of an autistic minor at the hands of them, I don't see any reason to devote any more energy.

Any research or code repos I've published will stay up, but with no additional changes. If you message me a Xbox question, I won't answer. I'll have a new reverse engineering target soon, I'm testing a few waters, but Starlink is among the options. This isn't the end, but a new chapter.

I'd like to say thank you to specific engineers there, you know who you are. Those folks mentored me, didn't belittle or ignore me due to my age, and provided more than I can ever thank them for. I hope the best for you folks, and if our paths ever cross outside of MS, I'd love to work together.

To the former Xbox MVPs (well all but one of you), a huge thanks as well. Thank you for the acceptance, respect and friendship I felt from day one. Thank you for the One X that I wouldn't have been able to afford otherwise. I'd love to continue that friendship with any who want to do the same.

We all know the reason, we still have a chance to fight these current trillion dollar companies, but future world monopolies if they succeed, will ban open weights and control the world on a scale never seen before.

Looking to attend BSidesTC this Oct 23 for the first time with my non-technical wife, any advice for a first timer who was hired out of high school by Apple as a infosec L2 engineer, gray hatted Microsoft and Xbox before that, has since learned DevOps and now augments infosec with machine learning?

Shout out to Immich memories for reminding me of my surprisingly successful attempt at Homelab full mineral oil submergence coolant on 5-2-19, in this case, using 2 Raspberry Pi 3 B+s, a ton of velcro, a suspicious doordash oil of solely mineral oil and a wall flower half sphere vase from Amazon.

Still interested in the concept to this day, but would definitely need a proper workload to make it worthwhile, plus fans to circulate the heated mineral oil, but maybe aquarium Series X one day? /S, or is it? Dun dun dun!
