Found a social media format for my client that works well on any short-form video site - as it leads to both high retention and engagement. This did 169k on Insta, 94k on Youtube and 91k on TikTok.

Some concepts I used here: - strong hook that creates a curiosity gap (can only be resolved by watching the full vid) - speaking to the player fantasy - making commenters feel smart/ important We had a nice wishlist bump from this :) Open to additional freelance work!

Also thinking about starting a Minecraft Patreon to be able to monetize my reach on TikTok, Pinterest, Insta and Youtube better. So I can dedicate more time towards Minecraft vids :)

Barely had time for my Minecraft channel, but had my biggest viral hits across Reddit, Pinterest and Youtube this year. - break with expectations to stick out - 2026 image carousels will be on all shortform-video platforms (including Youtube) - recycling content across platforms can multiply reach

With all that success not everything was rosy tho. I'm working for 6side Studio too, and there views are still not good, despite a great prototype. - if early in dev, don't overpromise in videos - be transparent - always keep the game vibe and expectations of players in mind

Don't get me wrong, I like Expedition 33 and agree they deserve most of their awards, but it feels like awarding best indie game to multi-million budget games is meant to water down what the term means so EA, Activision and other big publishers can start releasing their "indies"

The inflation hit so hard that the indie game of the year 2025 had to have multi-million budget, just below $10 000 000. Above that you can aspire for single A tier production.

Replying to @wsj.com

See, now, I just decided OpenAI owes me $10 million if they don’t opt out by midnight tonight. Is this how you do a capitalism? I’ve disrupted an industry here. Look at me innovating!

Porth Wen Brickworks - a very Ghibli-esque place. I know that Miyazaki visited Wales during pre-production for Laputa and I wonder if he visited (or at least saw pictures of it)?

How do you deal with redundancies? "We did hire the people who were made redundant back," reflects Spilt Milk Studios' Nicholas Lovell. "People might say, 'You should have carried that cost yourself'. We just couldn't, it would have killed the company." www.gamesindustry.biz/the-painful-...

gamesindustry.bizThe painful lessons learned from layoffsTwo studios reflect on how they dealt with redundancies – and what to do differently to avoid them in future
