We see no indication from Russia that it wants to end this war, or pursue any form of truce or peace. That's why we need to help Ukrainians get through winter and defend their country. Ukrainians need more air defence. We need to increase pressure on Russia to make it clear they have to negotiate.

De geschiedenis leert ons dat we elkaar kunnen verontmenselijken, maar ook vermenselijken. Zonder vriendschap en liefde zou een mens geen mens kunnen zijn. We worden niet als mens geboren, we worden tot mens gemaakt. Daarom: 'De mens is zijn menselijkheid aan zijn medemens verschuldigd.'
