Quite. This is precisely how money works, I believe that the technical term is "fungible"

This is an example of the absolute clusterfuck of the Royals. Cant use it to pay legal fees but just use it to pay for everything else so that money can be used for legal fees www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Two Tier Policing. Just Stop Oil got 21 years for planning to block a road. The Far Right block emergency vehicles they don't even get arrested.

Unclear on jurisdiction but if UK, Google has just admitted to three potential crimes under Section 1 of the Computer Misuse Act 1990. Other countries will have simular laws. Perhaps rather than talking about regulating IA, we should be enforcing existing laws?

These people who suddenly care about academic plagerism sound just like the people who suddenly care about fairness in sports Funny eh, what a coincidence

My small British company was bought by Americans. I have just been formally reprimanded for sarcasm and sardonic commentary. I told the disciplinary panel I was grateful for the opportunity to reflect on my attitude going forward and would be certain to bear it in mind in future.

In 2004 a human rights barrister & part of the appeal defence for the "Fairford Five", made a defence similar to that of the Palestine Action activists who broke into RAF Brize Norton last year. His name? Keir Starmer - who now even labels people who support these conscientious acts as terrorists.

George Monbiot@georgemonbiot.bsky.social

If you say “I support Palestine Action”, they might put you in jail. If you incite a racist riot, they put you on TV.

I think both Sadiq Khan and Yvette Cooper should get substantially more letters... Just saying.

An event is planned to be hosted in London proudly promoting the sale of land on illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank. This is obscene. I've called on @london.gov.uk and @yvettecooper-mp.bsky.social to stop the event and for this govt to take real action on illegal settlements.

If Muslims or members of the Asian and Black community had set fire to white people’s homes with children running for their lives, do you think we would be discussing legitimate concerns or focussing on who radicalised them and ideological and contributing cultural factors?

Disingenuous statements from Wes Streeting that he will introduce a wealth tax when all he means is slightly upping capital gains which is a tax on the growth of wealth not wealth itself. Only a real wealth tax that steadily erodes wealth would reduce inequality.

And this is why the @greenparty.org.uk are correct not to stand aside for Burnham (who BTW is married to an immigrant)

Pippa Crerar@pippacrerar.bsky.social

EXCL: Andy Burnham is backing Shabana Mahmood’s controversial changes to immigration system, allies have said, in blow to those in Labour who would soften them. GM mayor is understood to be keen to reframe changes - but is supportive of home sec’s attempts to limit legal & illegal migration.

OPD Group are a private healthcare company, in case you were wondering. I'm sure that they don't want anything in return for the huge wodges of cash they've been throwing at the bloke who is effectively in charge of the NHS. Why would they?

Good Law Project@goodlawproject.org

Our breakdown of Wes Streeting’s donors has been doing the rounds online for the last year. Now we’ve updated it – with another £55,000 from OPD Group.

Only a real stable genius would blockade a blockade /s I thought he was an idiot before. This only tells me his stupidity is beyond comprehension

Agree that this is troubling. So what is to be done about this accelerating loss of our shared heritage? The clue may be in this chap's name.

• Your friendly reminder that Lord Mandelson is still a member of the Parliamentary Labour Party and retains the Labour Whip. • Worth reflecting on all the MPs who lost the Labour Whip are were suspended from the Parliamentary Labour Party for voting against the 2 Child Cap.

Nothing demonstrates the amount of time to train astronauts than the fact that NASA's next crew to be launched into space includes a black guy, a woman, and a Canadian. It is an echo of a previous USA and a reminder of what has been lost.

I am horrified by the murder of a woman in Minneapolis by an ICE agent. This is what fascism looks like in real time, where a far-right government emboldens a violent death squad to terrorise communities with impunity.

So it turns out that the US seizure of an tanker off the coast of Scotland used RAF Mildenhall in #England and #Wick airport (owned by the #Scottish Government). Is it too much to hope that those assets would not be available for an attack on #Greenland? Starmer and Swinney must make that clear.

Arrived at Bristol Airport yesterday after a fantastic few days in the Highlands. Taxi driver: "where have you flown from?" Me: "Inverness" Him: "is that in Spain?"
