I'm wondering how #NAFO responds to those who pretend to be on Ukraine's side but always find a reason why Ukraine or the EU are doing it wrong or can't do it at all?

This post is unavailable.

This @kateinkharkiv.bsky.social. We care. Many of us follow daily what is happening. I regularly share your posts elsewhere so people know what is happening.

Becfella@becfella.bsky.social

There is a lot of global outrage In Australia we follow the news of Ukraine everyday Talk about it everyday It’s an outrage and we want Putin gone We know Russia are terrorists We know what they do We know Ukraine is brave, tired and traumatised It might seem like we don’t care but we do 🙏❤️🇺🇦🇦🇺

The Russians got caught with their panstirs down again? (ack to @cwinters.bsky.social for that one)

Anton Gerashchenko@antongerashchenko.bsky.social

Drone attack on a gas processing plant in Russia's Orenburg region. The plant is one of the largest enterprises in the Russian gas industry. The facility is part of Gazprom and plays an important role in natural gas processing and the production of gas chemical products.

Russians repeatedly show the world who they are by what they do. There is no honour in double taps on rescue workers. This is not a one off. It is something the Russians have been constantly doing during this war they refuse to call a war. We should believe them when they show us who they are.

Iryna Voichuk@irynavoichuk.bsky.social

A rescuer’s job is built around a simple idea: when everyone else is fleeing, you stay. Five rescuers were killed in a russian double-tap strike in Kharkiv. At least five more were injured. They arrived after the first strike. Russia waited for them and struck again. #Ukraine #Ukrainianview

Burn in hell, Fico.

Savchenko Volodymyr@savchenkoua.bsky.social

🇸🇰🧐 Fico wants to see a "connoisseur of the Russian soul" at Europe's talks with Putin Fico said that European politicians may publicly criticize contacts with Moscow, but in unofficial conversations they themselves are interested in the Kremlin's position and the possibility of negotiations.

I reckon the orcs are getting so strident in their demands for Ukrainian surrender to try and convince themselves it is possible. Because they sure as hell aren't convincing anyone else, least of all the Ukrainians.

MAKS 26 👀🇺🇦@maks23.bsky.social

🤡 Shoigu: Peace is only possible if Ukraine returns to neutral and non-nuclear principles.

Traditional Russian values on display. Russia is a death cult.

Kate from Kharkiv@kateinkharkiv.bsky.social

Russian woman: "This is my son. He's missing in action." Russian reporter: "So you have a kind of double holiday today. Well, I congratulate you on the holiday, on Victory Day. Have a good day." 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

As William Gibson once said (in a very different context) “The future is already here - it's just not evenly distributed”. Ukraine owns this future. Europe (and NATO) now need Ukraine more than ever.

🦋Special Kherson Cat🐈🇺🇦@specialkhersoncat.bsky.social

⚡️❗️Compact anti-drone air defense systems designed to counter small strike drones and FPVs are now entering Ukrainian frontline units and seeing real combat use Turret autonomously detects, tracks, and calculates the trajectory of enemy UAVs, with the operator only needing to confirm the engagement.

For anyone watching Russia's political tea leaves, here's a big one. My armchair view is we're seeing the beginning of the end of Putin's regime. First slowly, then quickly. I guess we're about to see how quickly it flips.

ChrisO_wiki@chriso-wiki.bsky.social

1/ As Victory Day approaches in Russia, warbloggers are increasingly despondent and predict the fall of the regime in the face of drone attacks and social and economic problems. They perceive a rapid worsening of the situation and a sense that 'things can't go on like this.' ⬇️

How anyone can argue against this sentiment beats the hell out of me, especially when Russia sees sport as just another field of political contest. There are too many international sporting bodies that have become morally corrupt.

Kate from Kharkiv@kateinkharkiv.bsky.social

🇳🇱 MEP Reinier van Lanschot: Until every Ukrainian is free to trade a gun for a paintbrush, to swap bunkers for sports fields, participation of Russians in cultural or sporting events is an insult to the memory of the dead and a mark of shame for any institution that hosts them!

Try looking in the mirror Rubio, you pathetic cuck.

MAKS 26 👀🇺🇦@maks23.bsky.social

🇺🇸🇮🇷 Marco Rubio on Iran: They are making threats about controlling the Strait of Hormuz in perpetuity, creating a tolling system and the like. That's not going to be allowed to happen. These people are lunatics. They are insane. They are religious zealots...

Oh look, European politicians think a strongly worded letter will defeat the US military. How cute. Time for them to get real and start treating the US as the openly hostile nation it is.

🪖MilitaryNewsUA🇺🇦@militarynewsua.bsky.social

❗️The leaders of leading European states have issued a joint statement in which they reaffirmed the inviolability of Denmark's sovereignty and the status of Greenland as its autonomous territory.

How cute. Under the new world order of "might is right", the US will be able to take Greenland unless Europe is willing to display the might to defend it. That's how the world is going to work now that the US has openly brushed aside the old "rules based international order".

The Ukrainian Review@theukrainianreview.bsky.social

🇩🇰🇺🇸 Danish PM Frederiksen: "It is completely pointless to talk about the US seizing Greenland. USA has no right to annex any of the three countries that make up the Danish Realm. Greenland and its people have made it clear they are not for sale and called on Washington to stop threatening people."

Morally bankrupt. This gutter scum is willing to throw the Ukrainian people under the Russian genocidal imperialist bus while his country profits from it.

Yanis Varoufakis@yanisvaroufakis.bsky.social

Can there be a better demonstration of the EU's performative irrelevance? They spent weeks negotiating with each other the issuance of 90bn euro debt which the EU cannot afford that will do nothing to win the War and much to obstruct Peace. www.ft.com/content/e569...

"No shit Sherlock". Why don't more people understand this? It's pretty simple. The consequences of a Russian victory in Ukraine are many times worse than the cost of giving Ukraine the support required to win.

🪖MilitaryNewsUA🇺🇦@militarynewsua.bsky.social

❗️Czech President Petr Pavel has warned the West against making any concessions to Russia in the war against Ukraine. In an interview with The Sunday Times, he warned that a Putin victory would mean a defeat for democratic states. Pavel compared the current situation to 1938,

Burn in hell Rubio!

NOELREPORTS@noelreports.com

Secretary of State Marco Rubio says that if Ukraine takes the right steps, its GDP could surpass Russia’s within 10 years. "They are literally fighting over a 30-50 km strip in Donetsk, roughly 20% of the region still under Ukrainian control and now a central issue in negotiations."

Zelenskyy's power of coercion over the Ukrainian people to force them to fight for him must truly be the stuff of legends. Or maybe the Ukrainian people have a deep desire for freedom and self determination. Have the tankies been lying to us? Just maybe?

Oksii ✚ 🇺🇦@oksii33.bsky.social

Dmytro was born near Yevpatoria in Ukrainian Crimea. He lived for 10 years under Russian occupation and passed information about Russian troops to the Ukrainian special services.

Textbook definition of genocide. Just in case any of us care enough to actually do anything to help Ukraine.

Mick Ryan@warinthefuture.bsky.social

“Russian President Vladimir Putin has underlined his true intentions by issuing a presidential decree calling for an escalation in efforts to eradicate all traces of Ukrainian identity from the approximately 20% of Ukraine currently under Kremlin control.” www.atlanticcouncil.org/blogs/ukrain...

Seriously? This is so manifestly inadequate it's like we are trying to insult the Ukrainian people. It should be an order of magnitude greater.

🇦🇺🇳🇿🇺🇦 Australia and New Zealand are ready to invest about $65 million to buy American weapons for Ukraine, - Militarnyi Australia - $50 million, New Zealand - $15 million. The funds could be combined with funds from another country or a combination of European countries.

My take: Trump still won't back Ukraine with decisive actions but wants to take the credit when they win with European support.

Molly McKew@mollymckew.bsky.social

Some people have asked me about this — which I had to make sure was real — and I’ll say what I’ve said since 2016: If POTUS wants to realize that being the savior of the free world is a much better gig than dealmaking with autocrats who hate America, I will cheer it. **And freedom starts at home.

Insightful (but much too short) look at the struggles of the Ukrainian army moving from a Soviet to a modern western style of command structure. Obviously still a long way to go but it does highlight the profound difference in performance it makes.

Jimmy Rushton@jimmyrushton.bsky.social

For New Lines Magazine: I spent a week and a half with Ukraine's elite Third Assault Brigade, the largest and one of the most effective fighting forces within the Ukrainian military, and not coincidently, one of the least 'Soviet'. With @michaeldweiss.bsky.social. newlinesmag.com/spotlight/in...

What is also becoming clear, the longer this conflict goes on, the more NATO needs Ukraine. Possibly more than Ukraine needs NATO. That's not to diminish Ukraine's very real and urgent need for assistance. But Ukraine's modern battlefield experience is way beyond what NATO understands.

Ukraine should play Russia at their own game. Call these a threat to Ukraine and launch a preemptive Flamingo strike at them.

NOELREPORTS@noelreports.com

As part of the “Zapad-2025” drills, Russia has deployed Iskander missile launchers in the Kaliningrad region near the Polish border. 'Show of force' against NATO.

We are not supposed to believe either Russian lie. They want us to understand that they don't care what we think and that they have contempt for us.

🪖MilitaryNewsUA🇺🇦@militarynewsua.bsky.social

❗️🇵🇱Polish Foreign Minister Sikorski: The Russian government suggests that Russian drones breached Poland’s airspace by mistake while the Russian UN ambassador claims it’s a physical impossibility for Russian drones to reach Poland. Which Russian lie are we supposed to believe?

They will do whatever they want, no matter what our response is. The correct response then, is to give Ukraine more long range missiles to destroy the Russian drones at the source. And to use NATO Airpower to close the skies over Ukraine.

I'm holding out for Santa Claus to bring me a luxury private jet.

🇪🇺🇺🇸 European leaders are holding out hope that Donald Trump will make good on his offer to give Ukraine concrete security guarantees, as they eye crucial gaps in their countries' defense capabilities, - Bloomberg

Belgian FM Maxime Prévot said that confiscating frozen Russian assets to aid Ukraine “is not an option for Belgium.” He warned it would undermine trust in the euro and damage the credibility of European financial services. Most of the €200B in frozen Russian funds are held in Belgium’s Euroclear.

Ukrainian civil resistance stories have a remarkable parallel with the London blitz. Likewise, I expect Ukraine's story to end in victory. Despite the intense pain and suffering they are enduring, the Ukrainian people are also showing the indomitable resilience and community spirit of victory.

Remember that coffee shop Russian drone attacked in Zaporizhzhia? This is a a local, Svitlana, ordering a cappuccino with cinnamon through window broken by Russian drone attack - while helping to clean up broken glass . And the coffee shop? They continued serving coffee just little later.

Maybe this is an opportunity for Ukraine to really troll Russia hard: an app that lets Russians working in critical industries request 10 minutes notification of their workplace being hit in return for details of where they work and what they do.

🇬🇷 Greece’s tanker fleet is increasing inspections of its vessels at Russian ports following a series of unexplained explosions, - Reuters. According to Greek shipping and security sources, the measures include underwater inspections by divers to check for foreign objects.

This is the bit that so many in the West are determined to avoid. The longer we bury our heads in the sand about the threat of authoritarian regimes (looking at you, Russia and China), the more expensive in lives, destruction and dollars it will become. The cheapest time to fix the problem is now.

Kate from Kharkiv@kateinkharkiv.bsky.social

And at this rate, it will come for you too. Unexpected and surrially cruel. And you’ll know you could have prevented it by supporting us when it mattered. 3/3

When you strip away all the propaganda, this is the root cause of the Russian genocidal invasion of Ukraine. The hot war may have begun in 2014, but Putin was putting in place the political moves required as early as 2003. Even as Ukraine was being stripped of its defences by empty Western words.

Angelica Shalagina Official🇺🇦@angel-shalagina.bsky.social

I'd vote for this bloke but that would be to profoundly misunderstand what he's trying to say. Thread is a worthwhile read for anyone who actually cares.

Eliot Higgins@eliothiggins.bsky.social

Standing up to the authoritarian wave requires more than cheerleading for democracy; it demands making democratic societies more participatory, responsive, and adaptable at all levels, from local to national, in response to the societal shifts driven by the Internet over the past 15 years.

Hell of a thread from Mick Ryan @warinthefuture.bsky.social. Pulls no punches. Rings the warning bells. Lays out the global geopolitical challenge to the liberal democratic west in simple terms. We can put in the hard work now or pay a far greater price later. It's like our version of 1938.

Mick Ryan@warinthefuture.bsky.social

In 2025, the West must not rush to force #Ukraine into an unjust peace with a brutal regime that began an unnecessary war, fought it poorly, used its military to rape, loot, torture and murder its way across a neighbour, and is unlikely to abide by any ceasefire agreement. 1/7 🧵

I have a novel idea. What if we, the liberal democratic west, give Ukraine the means and permission to destroy these death machines? No downside. At all. Unless we secretly want to keep Russia strong? But that would be morally reprehensible, right? #PissedOff
