hey I'm Tim. I design/sculpt miniatures and models, anything from tiny chubby tanks to kangaroo cavalry and trashbags. Occasionally I actually get round to painting my own designs as well. I also wrote a little book called Tankhead with my friend @emersontung.bsky.social

Don’t mind me, just making a 6mm LEGO Blacktron army. Why? Because I can. For what system? I’ll figure that out later.

My main takeaway from spiel so far is that Ronnie Renton from mantic's personal branding is fantastic. I barely spotted anyone I know but seemed to have no trouble recognizing him every 20 minutes.

I'll be at Spiel Essen Thursday. I'll probably be the only one wearing a tankhead Tshirt, first dozen or so people who spot me will get some tankhead goodies. (paper things are heavy and I'm not doing a booth so I'm not lugging about too much of it)

Funny how the PHP situation has been headline news in the Netherlands for a few hours and some major news outlets and government sites are going offline as a precaution. Meanwhile international news sites seem to make no mention of it?

To save you the time reading, it was intentional, it's an artistic statement and there is a non gallium skeleton inside for extra effect. Very nice.

The Neverwar is mostly associated with Tankheads but the Jetheads developed late in the war were just as impactful a development. Extreme long distance strikes suddenly became viable, bypassing all defenses. And in turn nimble interceptors were developed to counter this new treat.

Dear Blue-sky come on an adventure with me: Earlier someone posted a picture of some odd shaped lumps of metal on one of the Warhammer valuation FB groups. I instantly knew they were the Rhino Ablative Armour set (In production about '02-'04-ish). I helped out with the ID but it didn't end there.

Managed to hunt down two photos of the kitbashed model built by Jim Bowers as reference for the original WipEout game, sometime around 1993 or 1994. You can see the logos on it are harvested from other kits- Toyota and Buick logos, USAF roundels, and more that I'm sure someone else could ID

We do a little tweaking, @tim-popelier.com Need to adjust the body and the rear binder, but I do think it looks quite alright. With a proper pose, and the weapons, I think this'll look pretty rad~ It needs more fitting pauldrons too.
