Full disclosure: This person has been a creep in my chat for years. I've been far too nice NOT banning them up until this point. I finally felt *somewhat* justified when they started glorifying the usage of GenAI in the creative industry in my chat today though. The people I have to deal with, man.

Update: altstream.online has been having problems that have been getting solved left, right, and center, but even their devs have to sleep. We'll try again tomorrow, instead. 🧡

Alright, last few tweaks for a basic altstream.online setup are just about done! We'll try a multistream tonight and see how it goes, link to come when I go live.

Oh yeah, in the debacle that was getting the 85 Ford running, I failed to mention... I returned home safely! That means we're back to work tonight! See you guys in 40 minutes or so... 💚

The upside to waiting for a fuel pump is I'm realizing how quiet it is in my dad's house. My ears are ringing from there not being constant fans going or a computer working. Maybe a nap is in order...

Ordered a new pump over night, and it looked right when I picked it up. The cast flange is 180 degrees out, meaning it wants to be mounted upside down. I'm supposed to head home today.

Tia Singer || End Of The World Radio@tiasinger.bsky.social

Update: dropped the column, got the new switch in, that problem is now solved! ...But now it's not getting fuel, like the pump has gone bad from sitting. Fml.

2 o'clock for the replacement, so not terrible.

Dear 1985 Ford truck division engineers, Who the FUCK puts an ignition switch ON TOP of the COLUMN??? Surely we could've done better with this crap. Sincerely, A goblin with new scars on their knuckles.

Holy high winds, Batman! I'm in the road with the pups to go see my dad, and the wind today has been atrocious! Just stopped outside of El Centro to let the puppers out, and I'm groaning already at what my next fuel stop is gonna cost.

FYI

So many springs... Mitsumi keyboards are some of my least favorite to work on.

The 1970's has arrived in my 8-bit computer collection! Courtesy of one of my Twitch mods, this Atari 800 was actually her older brother's personal computer and has been in storage since 1998. It has some issues, but nothing that can't be solved, so stay tuned for Star Raider and Donkey Kong.

I just got startled awake by the jackhammers starting next door. They're working on re-lining the main sewer line for the building, but that means water is turned off for a bit. Guess who's bladder has decided to make its opinion known.

I was tempted to pirate HP, curiosity and all that. But @jessiegender.bsky.social is right - think of the amount of times HBO commented on GOT leaks and downloads, just as an example. They DO track these things, and even that drives interest. Let this show die. Trans people deserve better.

Alright, first day of the El Niño heatwave is hitting SoCal today. Remember to stay hydrated and not push yourself too much!

I'm so in love with the visuals in CONTROL Resonant, and though I don't have an OLED for true HDR and high contrast, this old NEC does a baller job in one's place. Also huge props to @remedygames.com for supporting 4:3 ratios properly! It's freaking rad!

I might still be having issues with my ISP, but that doesn't mean I can't make art. Spent yesterday designing and rigging a new hoodie for my model, and it's so nice to have one back. It's rocking the same party trick as the other tops, meaning I can change the color whenever I want.

🔴 Eight years going live, three as a Twitch Partner... Let's have a drink about it. twitch.tv/tia_singer

I'm going to be a buck fifty with you guys: I'm dreading tonight's show. With the constant network problems of the last several months suddenly exacerbated into full network crashes and service blackouts, I don't know how tonight's going to go. I hate job anxiety.

Update: it was like 20 minutes, some hot glue, and a genuine jaw-dropping moment to put the plastics to this thing mostly right. Damn, NEC build genuine TANKS for monitors. This thing is so solid and has so little soot, I think it has to be genuinely low-hour.

Tia Singer || End Of The World Radio@tiasinger.bsky.social

With enough biege, we can escape this AI slop-driven nightmare.

Good jaw-dropping, by the way, not bad. I wasn't expecting the reinforced steel chassis everything is mounted to on the inside, since I'm more used to consumer television sets instead of monitors. She's a UNIT.

Order 2 of 3 is in from Goodwill: a mid-80's Yamaha K-28 dual cassette deck! I won the bid for $30, so I'm thoroughly pleased that it arrived in one piece. The belts need replacing, but that's just a basic service item. Don't you love when rubber just turns back to goo?

20 Sept

Been a bit since I posted a WIP, so have this.
