I think this is big. 🌠 FastAPI's objective is to provide what you always need for real prod apps. And not provide what you don't. You always want metrics, there's just not enough time to always set it all up. Now it's just there, by default.

FastAPI@fastapi.tiangolo.com

FastAPI now has built-in OpenTelemetry support, natively 📈 No extra code needed. See how your app behaves in production. Go and upgrade to "fastapi[standard]" version 0.142.2 ⬆️ Read the docs: fastapi.tiangolo.com/advanced/ope...

The new official Redis SDK for FastAPI is so cool! Come and see it in action. 🚀

Building AI agents with FastAPI? 🤖 Come and learn from Pieter Cailliau of Redis at FastAPI Conf: streaming LLM responses, shared state, caching, and keeping work running after a client disconnects. 🤓 fastapiconf.com/speakers/#pi...

I will keep reviewing and adjusting any AI generated code until the models can consistently one-shot produce something I would consider acceptable. I haven't been able to just "trust the model". But anyway, trust is earned, applies to humans, companies, products, AI.

I bet we'll get many "simple" tricks that are not always obvious and leave you thinking "wait, you can just do that?" ☕️

Finally, I can guide you to build a proper full-stack app, from scratch, until it's deployed to your users, in minutes. 🤏🚀 I've been working towards this for the past 10+ years. 😅 Now it's about continuous improvements and more planned features. 😎

The FastAPI full-stack template now comes with @fastapicloud.com ✨ Create your account, set settings, done. It deploys on merge. ⚡️ You can also still self-host it instead, using the guide and following all the steps. github.com/fastapi/full...

I didn't see this coming. 👀 I always thought @fastapi.tiangolo.com should have more followers than me individually, but it hadn't happened yet. This makes more sense to me. 😅

At some point recently FastAPI passed 100k followers on LinkedIn 💯 Thank you! 🙌 www.linkedin.com/company/fast... There's also: X: x.com/fastapi Bluesky: bsky.app/profile/fast...

One of the few friends I asked if it would make sense to build a cloud for @fastapi.tiangolo.com, in 2023 was @dynamicwebpaige.bsky.social She said "you have to, not only for humans, but for agents" This was way before we all used agents for coding And now at FastAPI Conf! So cool. Full circle. 💃

FastAPI@fastapi.tiangolo.com

FastAPI Conf speaker! 📢 @dynamicwebpaige.bsky.social is constantly making sure Google DeepMind AI tools are great for developers. Used to do that at GitHub, TensorFlow, and more. 🤓 Amazing speakers. FastAPI maintainers. An incredible community. Lots of Python. fastapiconf.com

A bunch of improvements in development workflows and style for emails from Alejandra in the full-stack-fastapi-template, so you can create your app with the best baseline. ✨

FastAPI@fastapi.tiangolo.com

The FastAPI Full Stack Template now uses React Email for email templates and Mailpit for local email testing! 📬️ Develop emails with React Email, test them locally with Mailpit, generate and commit the templates, and use them from FastAPI as always. ⚡️ github.com/fastapi/full...

Did you see the famous talk "Pydantic is all you need"? And how that ended up in AI Labs providing structured output? It seems Jason Liu is all you need! 🙌 (And we'll all keep making references to the Transformers paper until morale improves).

I had very interesting conversations with GitHub's security team and other open source maintainers, some of which inspired rebuilding some of the tools used to manage the repos to increase security even more. I recently made several new tools we are now using:

Here's the full-stack-fastapi-template 0.12.0 🎁 More modern, simpler, easier. Too many improvements to fit here, but let's start: You can now simply click the "Use this template" button in GitHub to create a new repo, possibly private. ✨ github.com/fastapi/full...

Coding agent thingies extending what you can research and build combined with giving them FastAPI Cloud to deploy feels like such a superpower. First print("hello world") vibes ✨ I just replaced 50 GitHub personal access tokens with 3 apps, while making everything more secure.

Two hard problems in computer science: 1. cache invalidation 2. naming things @nucleonjohn.bsky.social is (very cleverly) taking care of the cache invalidation for you, so you can focus on naming your app. 🤓 You code. We cloud. ⚡️

FastAPI Cloud@fastapicloud.com

Static assets are now smartly cached on FastAPI Cloud, powered by Cloudflare. ⚡️ Most are served directly by the high-performance CDN, without reaching your Python app. The cache resets automatically on every deployment. Just use standard @fastapi.tiangolo.com . Zero config. 😎
