Jonathan Blake, one of the first people diagnosed with HIV in the UK and a longstanding HIV activist, was given a lifetime achievement award last night at our Positive Voices awards.

Andrew Scott paid tribute to fellow actor Ian Charleson's 'Olympian' achievement of playing Hamlet at @nationaltheatre when dying from an AIDS-related illness. Andrew gives an incredible performance as Ian in upcoming film Elsinore and spoke of his awe at Ian's ability to take on the role.

We're delighted to be working with STUDIOCANAL on the release of Elsinore, which will be in UK cinemas nationwide from 29 January 2027. We can't wait for everyone to see this powerful film full telling such an important story from the HIV epidemic.

NICE has recommended AGAINST making lenacapavir – a twice-yearly injectable form of PrEP – available for HIV prevention in England and Wales. This is profoundly disappointing.

This is a Troye Sivan appreciation post. In a quiet moment in Troye's hot new music video, the pop star takes a PrEP pill. It's a simple act to help normalise PrEP. But it's far from the first time that Troye has used his platform to help advocate around HIV. Thank you, Troye!

Last week, our Chief Executive, Richard Angell, was at Labour Party Conference, and this party conference season we've been all over the country speaking to different parties.  Wherever we go, our message is the same. Donate now to support our work. https://tht.org.uk/donate

A beautiful and heartbreaking story that needs to be experienced. We cannot wait for this to be released in cinemas nationwide on 29 January 2027.

Last week our Head of Terrence Higgins Trust Scotland, Alan Eagleson, appeared on STV to talk about how we can tackle HIV stigma and end new cases by 2030. It's an ambitious goal - but together we can achieve it. Donate to support our work today. https://tht.org.uk/donate

Taylor Swift has a new single coming out on Friday called Patient Zero. But do you know the story behind that phrase? The story tells us a lot about the history of HIV stigma. #LGBThistory #HIV #TaylorSwift

Following the announcement that the Scottish Government will publish a new HIV Action Plan, we joined Waverley Care and National AIDS Trust in the Scottish Parliament to discuss the action needed to tackle stigma and end new transmissions of HIV in Scotland by 2030.

HIV is on the agenda in Wales.   In today's Programme for Government, the First Minister of Wales has committed to action to end new cases of HIV in Wales by 2030.

It's a win! Today, Minister for Public Health Maree Todd has committed to a new HIV Action Plan for Scotland. The Scottish Government plan will be vital in driving forward the steps needed to end new transmissions of HIV by 2030 and support people living with HIV in Scotland to thrive.

The Terry Higgins Memorial Quilt has now officially joined the UK AIDS Memorial Quilt, as the quilts go on display in full for the very first time in Scotland at Glasgow's Tramway. The UK AIDS Memorial Quilt represents over 600 people lost to #HIV and AIDS in the UK.

Today NICE has recommended AGAINST making lenacapavir – a twice-yearly injectable form of PrEP – available for HIV prevention. This is profoundly disappointing. Add your name to show that access to twice-yearly injectable PrEP must not be kicked into the long grass: www.tht.org.uk/prep-petition

Today Andy Burnham has become our new Prime Minister. We look forward to working with him and his government to make sure England ends new HIV cases in the UK by 2030.

Today marks 44 years since Terry Higgins became the first named person in the UK to die of an AIDS-related illness on 4 July, 1982. Starting a chain of events that led to the founding of our charity in his name and our place at the forefront of the fight against HIV ever since.
