David #Eby rolled the dice and lost. Now #LorneDoerkson is B.C.'s next premier. What does that mean for the province, and can Doerkson connect with voters beyond his base? We chat with @macleodandrew.bsky.social who breaks it down. Listen here: tinyurl.com/3jkmxwx6

I've reported a lot on OneBC and Dallas Brodie, the party that did its best to promote residential school denialism and attack Indigenous rights in this province. Tonight she lost her riding of Vancouver-Quilchena about as hard as you can lose.

Under Emily Lowan’s leadership, the BC Greens have undergone a radical brand refresh and the party has worked to engage a young audience. Will these efforts pay off at the voting booth? Hugh Chan writes. #BCPoli thetyee.ca/News/2026/10...

So far it looks like David Eby is holding onto his seat in Vancouver-Point Gray. MAYBE. My guess is that we'll see his resignation tonight.

It’s 9 p.m., and CBC, CTV and Global News project a Conservative Majority. “I don’t think anyone expected it to get called this early,” said Conservative candidate Alex Muir. “People were expecting, to be honest, a dogfight, and what we saw tonight was a sweeping answer for British Columbians.”

I'm hanging out at BC NDP HQ tonight and I have to say the atmosphere is... muted. @isaacphannay.bsky.social is posted over at the BC Conservative election night party at Rocky Mountaineer Station. Our first file on the night: thetyee.ca/News/2026/10...

If you're doing takes (have at it!) on strategy and tactics, it's worth noting the Conservatives have more votes than the NDP and the Green combined at this point.

“As these early results start rolling in, I think they sent a loud and clear message,” said Carson Binda, the Conservative candidate for Vancouver-Quilchena. CBC puts him at more than 1,800 votes —  Tthat's far ahead the incumbent OneBC Leader Dallas Brodie, who has 133

It’s just after 7 p.m. and people are starting to filter into the Rocky Mountaineer Station in Vancouver, where the Conservative Party of B.C. is gathering on election night. About 1,300 people, including candidates, supporters and party staff are expected. The mood is jovial.

"I'm cautiously optimistic," said Alex Shiff, the Conservatives' director of media relations. "This is a team that came together super quickly. Thirty days ago, many of us didn't know each other. Ultimately, it came down to Lorne."

Long before he became the interim leader of the Conservative Party of BC, Loerne Doerkson was a rodeo rider and newspaper publisher. @steveburgess53.bsky.social profiled him this week. #BCPoli
