It’s transgender awareness week. I have two trans kids who are comfortable in and proud of their identities. I hope I can answer a few questions I get frequently and help folks feel more comfortable and well-informed.

HORROR MOVIE MARATHON DAY 31! THE FINAL GIRLS! HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Now, normally, Halloween day is dedicated to two specific movies for me. The WNUF Halloween Special and Halloween 3: Season of the Witch... and don't worry, those movies will be watched today.

It pokes fun at slasher tropes while also celebrating them, and the emotional beats hit just as hard as the kills. A perfect watch anytime you want horror with a little heart. The Good Time Boys give it 4 SKULLS!

Thank you to everyone who read, shared, and liked these dumb posts. Horror is so important to me, and I hope that, if anything, I was able to give you a few good recommendations for the spooky season! Remember to keep horror in your heart, and go watch some thegoodtimeboys.com mixtapes!

But for the final flick of The Good Time Boys Horror Movie Marathon, I wanted to go with something a little more light-hearted... it also fit the overall 2000s+ theme of this year.

The Final Girls is meta horror done right. A daughter gets pulled into her late mother’s cheesy ‘80s slasher flick, and what follows is funny, heartfelt, and surprisingly touching.

So here's the thing that confuses me... If that reality TV show guy is on THE LIST (which... yeah, obviously) Why doesn't he just instruct them to scratch his name off? Or lose the page, and then RELEASE THE FILES? How ingrained is this man in these files that they refuse to do even that?

HORROR MOVIE MARATHON DAY 30! THE SUBSTANCE! Body horror galore! A grotesque, satirical ride about aging, vanity, and identity. It’s equal parts disturbing and fascinating, with images that will absolutely burn into your brain.

HORROR MOVIE MARATHON DAY 29! HUSH! A home invasion movie with a brilliant hook: the victim is deaf. The tension cranks up right away, and @flanaganfilm does a killer job keeping it tight and scary.

It’s basically a cat-and-mouse movie that keeps you hooked without ever getting too gimmicky. Plus, @katesiegelofficial is the absolute BEST! The Good Time Boys give it 5 SKULLS!

HORROR MOVIE MARATHON DAY 28! TRUTH OR DARE! Not the Blumhouse one, this is the gorier SyFy channel version. A group of friends play an extreme game of “Truth or Dare,” and obviously, it goes very badly.

It’s silly, it’s mean-spirited, and it’s got that cheap made-for-TV vibe. Still, if you want bloody dares and dumb decisions, it scratches that itch. The Good Time Boys give it 2.5 SKULLS!

HORROR MOVIE MARATHON DAY 27! THE RENTAL! Another “Airbnb gone wrong” flick, this time directed by Dave Franco. It starts like a slow-burning relationship drama and then, boom, slasher energy kicks in.

It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s well-acted and does a solid job of making you question ever booking a cabin in the woods again... bum bum buuuummmmm The Good Time Boys give it 3.5 SKULLS!

The religious undertones get a little heavy-handed, but it’s a neat little pressure-cooker horror movie that doesn’t overstay its welcome. The Good Time Boys give it 3.5 SKULLS!

HORROR MOVIE MARATHON DAY 25! A WOUNDED FAWN! Yeeeeessss @joshruben at his Rubeniest! Trippy. Artsy. Bloody. This flick takes a pretty classic premise (woman goes to a cabin with a shady guy) and turns it into a surreal fever dream of Greek mythology, violence, and hallucinations.

It’s gorgeous to look at, but also kinda disorienting. Definitely not background viewing, you need to give yourself over to the weirdness. The Good Time Boys give it 4.5 SKULLS!

HORROR MOVIE MARATHON DAY 24! SE7EN! Certainly not the first flick you think of when you think "horror," but this David Fincher classic sits squarely in the horror genre! It's been a minute since I've enjoyed this one so... I picked it!

Still one of the bleakest, most effective crime-horror-thrillers ever made. The atmosphere is what really makes it stick. The grime, the rain, the sheer misery... THE BOX! The Good Time Boys give it 5 SKULLS!

HORROR MOVIE MARATHON DAY 23! XX! An all-female-directed horror anthology that covers a lot of ground. Like most anthologies, some shorts hit harder than others, but overall it’s stylish and unsettling in all the right places.

Highlights for me included "The Birthday Party" with the insanely talented @msmelanielynskey and "Don't Fall", where a group of hikers get an unexpected visitor. The Good Time Boys give it 4 SKULLS!
