I couldn't get "OpenGPT" (4-bit quantized) to respond sanely. It was chatty, broke Markdown formatting, and often ended with long chains of gibberish tokens. I used a basic Fibonacci prompt with a custom code execution tool. I tried the following SOTA models instead (spoiler: Qwen3 won) 🧵

Super easy to run 🆕 GPT-OSS-20B on MacBook with @lmstudio-ai.bsky.social! ⭐ GUI ⭐ quantized/MLX 🆓 lmstudio.ai/blog/gpt-oss

🥉 LG Exaone 32B kept trying to run a failing Python script without fixing it 🥈 Phi-4 Reasoning and DeepSeek Qwen 8B both rattled verbose academic thought chains and failed at tool calling 🥇 Qwen3 30B (2507 non-reasoning) alone gave succinct correct output identical to my daily driver Gemini Flash!

This. I avoid politics because I'm anti-🇺🇸 in general. But fuck me if Disney hasn't been too on the nose. Like "news next month" level 💔

Daredevil is depressing because Kingpin is weirdly similar to the last few months of Trump, but they shot it like a year ago, so I think it's just a coincidence because they're both super villains

With the Augment Code on @jetbrains.com and Junie on the horizon I'm in the process of switching to @webstorm.jetbrains.com. But the biggest surprise of the week was Fleet ❤️‍🔥 I've seen so many bad reviews but it's everything I ever wanted from Code! If VS gets on your nerves it's worth a try

A week later I still love dropping into Codespaces for random shit like fixes to Obsidian plugins. But I'm surprised how often I lose my terminal connection inside. It also doesn't warn me before accidentally closing my broswer tab vs editor pane

I know it's stupid but sometimes I don't PR just because I don't want to clone etc. Lately I've been opening a repo into GitHub.dev to make easy fixes then jumping straight into Codespace when necessary. And @github.com has made the flow between sites completely seamless. It's 🔥🔥🔥

2019 - OpenAI Five wins a Dota 2 tournament and 99.4%of games in a public event 2019 - DeepMind AlphaStar achieves Grandmaster level in StarCraft II above 99.8% of ranked humans 2019 - DeepMind beats 80% of "strong" players with a handicap to simulate human reaction time

Notes: • a0 and lc0 are trained solely by reinforcement learning vs supervised learning on move databases • SF now integrates a neutral network to help filter positions • SF and lc0 continue to trade top ranks in chess engine tournaments • Microsoft Maia is better at simulating human style

More dates: 1996 - IBM Deep Blue beats Kasparov on a supercomputer 2002 - Deep Fritz beats Kramnik on a home computer 2015 - AlphaGo dominates humans in Go despite astronomically higher complexity

There's a mismatch between public perception of what AI is, what it's good at, and what's being done to improve it. My own brother working in DS with high security clearance didn't believe me that SOTA LLMs train on largely synthetic data. TLDR "next word predictors" memorize vs "do" math

you fucked up a perfectly good computer is what you did. look at it. it's got innumeracy

5. Have you considered they (India too) have 5 times the population of the US, more rigorous universities, and a cultural and economic imperative to innovate AI without needing to steal it Blindly believing your nation's political narrative about Yellow Peril is inherently xenophobic 🙅🏼‍♂️

3. How much media you watch decries the 10s of millions of Arabs wiped out by colonial America every decade I've lived 4. As someone meeting Chinese nationals every day do you realize how much better their life is than yours including healthcare, education, transit, and safety

This is the biggest thing since Windsurf for me 🎆 Finally an agentic editor with @jetbrains.com support! And maybe even outperforms Cursor in both quality and speed?

Augment Code@augmentcode.com

🤖 Just dropped a new video comparing Augment vs Cursor in a self-driving car codebase. Watch how Augment's context engine navigates 20k files like an expert while Cursor... well, struggles with basic search.
