her blood sugar is always very high, and no doubt several of the complications she's suffered over the past so long have been an untreated problem catching up with her. i wonder who she would have been, if the world did not rob her of everything. her daughter, her best years, her health.

ice magic doesn't feel quite right for Dexter but I keep coming back to it. i think in part because another party member is going plant/earth, which is what i normally code Dexter as. still kind of floating around the "spring" theme though... thawing, ice, flowers.

Dexter is a healer, so I'm going to take Life, one other support spell, a novel utility, and a damage spell. but it's so tempting to do a kind of like... Spring-time theme with him, and do ice and plants.
