Spent the day being relentlessly stabbed by Zoe (imaginary_rubbish on Insta) to continue work on my back collage adding 7 new albums to the mix. This is coming together so well! Thanks for being an amazing collaborator, Zoe!

First: 20 Front St is a fantastic venue...intimate, comfortable, great sound...A++ First, again: if you haven't kept up with Jenny Owen Youngs, get caught up! The newest stuff is amazing Also first: if you aren't familiar with Northcote, get familiar...great stuff In all, a dope date night!

I am in love with the listening room where tonight's Jenny Owen Youngs and Northcote show takes place! I will absolutely find more shows at 20 Front Street !

I'm about half way to Ocean's Calling, which has been looking to be my second mud fest in a row...but it looks like they're gonna save me from myself for at least one of the days...

Last night was a much warmer, much drier, much less muddy show... The Shins and Silversun Pickups (and I have on good authority, Weezer played) at LCA. A fantastic show to bridge the gap between music festivals...

This will easily be the least number of hours I've spent at a Riot Fest while actually in town for the show. Hoping I can still catch some of Daisy Grenade, The Beths, Pennywise, Patti Smith, Alanis and others in a soupy mess! #riotfest #riotfestsucks

Yesterday's Riot Fest was cut short for me when the folks behind me used a crowd surfer's head as a spear into the back of my noggin resulting a brief nap. (I'm fine)...today is flood warnings and rain. I'm still hoping to catch Social D, The Descendants, a Bright Eyes, and more today though!

What a great night! Sincere Engineer put on an incredible show, and I was introduced to the music of Smug LLC and Stay Inside! Added bonus, dinner beforehand at Alpino...all with great friends. I give tonight a perfect 5/7

Today we added 4 more artists/albums to my back...when I say "we", I actually mean that I sat there whining about the fact that tattoos hurt while Zoe did all the (amazing) work. I absolutely adore how this is coming together! Who can spot all 6 artists/albums represented?

With Google Maps misnaming bodies of water on behalf of fascists, it's time for a change. Next up, starting to unwind the rest of the Google services from my life.

Last night: Dashboard Confessional and The Fray...tonight The Romantics, Christopher Cross, and Toto. Finish August at 21 days of concerts!

Today Zoe from Hive Tattoo Studio started work on my next long-term tattoo project: my back will feature artwork from albums that were important to me in my teens and early twenties. Today's ink was from Smashing Pumpkins and The Breeders. I'm so in love with this work!

Catching the "3 Pianos" show by Something Corporate/Jack's Mannequin/Andrew McMahon was absolutely worth the storm-delayed trip to Philadelphia. An outstanding show that takes me over the half -way point of concerts for the year!

Unseasonable cold, dangerous heat, and severe storms...this outdoor concert season has been a rollercoaster! Let's see how much they mean it when they say "rain or shine" #3pianostour

Seeing Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, and Mannequin Pussy was a fantastic 17th day of concerts on the year! Absolutely killer!

When "Marigold" dropped as the b-side on my "Heart Shaped Box" cassette, I played it until it literally wore out. Tonight I got to hear it live for the first time. ❤️❤️❤️

August is a very busy month! Already I've done Evanescence and worked the election, tonight is Foo Fighters and QotSA, and the rest of the month includes MCR, Toto & Christopher Cross, sobbing my way through The Fray and DBC, and going to Philly for the 3 Pianos tour.

Absolutely go see the new Spider-Man movie, avoid spoilers and go right now. I need to see it again to be sure, but it might actually be my favorite in the franchise now.

The tour of the music of my 80s and 90s continued on the 15th day of live music for the year... Toad the Wet Sprocket, Men at Work, and Shonen Knife! An absolutely fantastic show!

What a great day for Detroit Festival of Books. I'll just go ahead and not check what I spent AT ALL. Also, if you want to talk to infinity people, wear a Book Slut t-shirt and sparkly purple nails! It was a very social day for me! Nap time.

Ronan Sparrow was bringing back building materials for his little home on our doorway when we came home. He's over here asserting squatter's rights... UNACCEPTABLE. Look at his smug, dumb face up there waiting for us to go inside.

Last night's show at The Magic Bag was outstanding! Horsegirl was amazing, I really dug Nine Perfect Lives' vibe, and was surprised by local band Sleep Tight Tiger who I'll definitely be catching again...in all, a great night with great humans!

"If you step right over here they can stamp your hand..." "Oh, do you need to see ID?" "Nah, YOU'RE definitely good" Ouch! 🤣🤣 Almost time to catch Nine Perfect Lives and Horsegirl

May is MUCH lighter than was April, just two events. I mean, one of them is 4 days long and both are back-to-back, but just two things! #winning I'm so hyped for Yellowcard and Sonic Temple this week!

Sometimes all of my role playing groups that happen on different cadences align on the same week...this is one such week! Monday was the Cosmere system. Today is Sentinel Comics. Friday is D&D 5e. Saturday is, I assume, a long nap.

Under 30 minutes before I start streaming to raise money for Extra-Life! I'm matching all donations during my stream 1:1 up to $1k Also -$20 for each unique viewer I got on Twitch -$20 x the highest concurrent Twitch viewers-$20 for each new subscriber/gifted subscription jer.wtf/eldonate

This weekend marks roughly the half way point between last Extra-Life and the next one. To celebrate, we'll be doing a bit of streaming this weekend to fundraise. Come say hi and maybe donate between 10am and 10pm ET on Saturday! jer.wtf/eldonate

To sweeten the pot a little, you can cost me some money in two ways: I'll 1-to-1 match donations on Saturday up to 1k, and also at the end of the stream I'll donate $20 for every unique view I get and $20 * my highest current viewers!

I'm trying to go to less shows that require travel this year (largely unsuccessfully), but when Soul Asylum is doing an acoustic tour and NOT coming to Detroit, you make an exception. Doubly so when Corey Glover is opening! A fantastic night in beautiful Kent, OH.
