Say what you will about two Trump administrations but people have really shut the fuck up about Intelligent Design.

Hey CBS, as a fellow old guy, can I get a trigger warning before you tell me Kirk Cousins felt like his Achilles tendon was "full of concrete"? I am trying to keep mine from tearing and you're making me teary.

Patriots are in their throwbacks which inspired one of my fellow fans to wear his TAXATION IS THEFT dress T-shirt to the game. Old school patriotism there.

Richard Sherman, I love you, but the last time I saw that vest on tv, Bat Masterson was in it. unless you’re opening for Mumford and Sons, probably time to put it in the Goodwill pile with Timberlake’s fedora.

Jim Nantz just teased the VMAs with Madonna and “jaw-dropping acts“ which I assume is a cute way of saying the other elderly people will have dentures fall out.

Susan Collins's bet, clearly, is that there are a non-trivial number of Dem/Indy voters who have been programmed for so long by the Maine press to believe she's pro-choice that it doesn't matter what she says or does. They simply won't believe otherwise. That can't be allowed to stand. #MEpolitics

Video: Susan Collins on her Brett Kavanaugh vote (that led to Roe v. Wade being overturned): "Thank you. It's something that still comes up. He's qualified. And I don't, as I've said, I don't regret that vote." #mesen #mepolitics

I just proposed to my department head that "QA for AI" may be best done by an "arsonist fireman" who creates problems and then, given no dev team has cycles to spare, fixes the problems. While he said he thought that made sense, he did not respond to my request for a job title change.

The real takeaway for me from this Pats game: looking at the visitors sideline (tv perspective), there is a bright spot of red around the right-hand 31 yard line which must be Ed Sheeran buried up to his hair line.

Learned a lesson about calling game over, but we now have a three-way tie: 1 squirrel escaped 1 killed by dog 1 so tired it let me pick it up and put it outside Am I rubbing that in the pets’ faces? Reader, you know I am.

Made the mistake of going downstairs to play video games. Two dogs, two cats. currently down 1-2 vs the “chipmunks” (technically red squirrels) and I am the one of us who knows exactly where your man is. I keep offering him free passage but I think he may just feel safe among these clowns.

One of, if not my favorite, video game moments of all time, was getting spun by a cop in Vice City just as the sun was coming up and Night Ranger’s Sister Christian was blaring in my car radio at like 2am in real life as I hit reverse and made it into a Pay and Spray. Up there with beating Tyson.

This post is unavailable.

I dunno if it’s hubris or some curse or what, but the end of the Chipmunk Crisis was actually like a four hour interregnum. So now it’s Chip, Dale and one even dumber than Dale.

Not to pile on, but at this point I have Brennan Johnson with -3 goals for Everton *in this game*. And there are 25+ minutes to go.

All uphill from here: neighbor started shooting off fireworks at 5:30am. Not unusual for NH but went on so long I picked up my phone to see if it announced any beloved world leaders had popped their clogs. No such luck.

In case anyone was on tenterhooks, our Chipmunk Crisis ended somewhere around hour 40 in a 1-1 draw. One dude slipped out the door, one dude slipped off this mortal coil.

I was going to congratulate the chipmunk that survived 18 hours and two floors of our house having been caught by three different animals and yet I managed to shepherd out the door while one of the dogs and one of the cats continued to look for him. Except: apparently there were two of them.

What is it about this house that turns stone killer animals into avant-garde artists working in the medium of live rodents? At least the older cat can protest we took most of her teeth. Plus she made the Hall of Fame for the bat and snake back in the day, so retirement is fine there.

That damn dog up there, I saw one of the chipmunks in his mouth. Something else I saw in his mouth once: the decapitated body of a groundhog he was really proud of. And rightfully so.

Chipmunks are so goddamn stupid I can only assume a Marvel Team-Up of two of them makes them geometrically dumber. Whether it is Zan or Jayna who hasn't made it home yet, I have to get on a call. Sorry.

The Big Lad has a real “To save the village we had to destroy it” energy. I will not the irony of Jenga somehow not being in pieces.

I am at my dad’s for a visit and it is an inspiration to see someone already in the Hall of Fame still innovating about how to make more noise in the morning when you have a houseguest. He did something with baking sheets this morning that was entirely new to me.

Please tell me someone has already meme’d the Houston police officer reacting to the close of the anthem before the Bills game just now.

You ever roll out of bed in the morning and sing the phrase, “shit, shower and shave” to the tune of Paul Simon’s ”Slip Sliding Away”? Because you can. And should.

The head of my department called me a "hustler" today and she meant it as a compliment. But all I can hear is Telly Savalas saying it with a sneer to Don Rickles in "Kelly's Heroes". I think I may have gotten old somewhere along the line.

Wait wait wait. They used Optimus Prime, extraterrestrial alien who came to this country illegally to *support* their deportation campaign?

Even as an opposing fan I appreciate Seattle’s embrace of the local. Both the fans as 12 and the guy with the best crank recipe in Olympia as their offensive coordinator.

Bipartisan shout out to New Hampshire voters who insist on keeping political dynasties alive. I love having our elected positions swapped between two families like a casserole dish at Sunday dinner. “We want political change! But not right here.”

I've been designing adversarial PDF attacks for QA at work and after 3 weeks I am torn between two position: - hide under the bed because this world is about to come apart if even I can figure this out - start applying for CEO jobs with these attacks and buy a safe house with the money

When I said remake Clockwork Orange, I didn’t mean with the same actors.

"Watch closely and count the assaults taking place here, not by security staff, but by people in the crowd. Hair is being pulled, protesters are being grabbed, and people appear to be throwing punches. A heckler doesn’t give anyone the right to treat the situation like a free-for-all."

If dogs could talk, them first thing I would do it tell them how much I love them. If cats could talk, the first thing I would do is ask what they think I am doing in the bathroom that merits investigation.

Rather than “late-stage capitalism”, I propose “kangaroo capitalism”. Like a kangaroo court, it has all the trappings of the real thing, but it’s a rigged game.
