Richard Tice might as well be added to Today’s payroll at this point. Why are we listening to what he’d do in an imaginary world where Reform get to set the budget this week?

The people replying to this just seem constantly determined to be miserable. It’s no wonder Andy’s message doesn’t appeal to them.

Why is the Government going after pensioners? It's time to tax the rich

Note how the moral panic about blocking the roads disappears if it's the far right doing it

Sunder Katwala (sundersays)@sundersays.bsky.social

"Roads are all blocked. They are never going to be allowed to leave". The news reports do not yet include if any arrests were made or not in Portsmouth last night. A couple of police cars had their windows smashed. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

A year ago I wrote one of my most popular posts: "the financial crisis theory of everything". It looks at how the 2008 crash led to Trump, the rise of the radical right, Brexit, the war in Ukraine etc... I've taken off the paywall so it's now free to read. samf.substack.com/p/the-financ...

Everton not only got a points deduction, they are now being sued as a result of those deductions for nearly 4x the amount of Chelsea’s fine.

Don’t expect much summer spending from Everton this summer. Looks like most of the transfer budget is going to Burnley. Dont worry though; the PL will change the rules now to protect everyone else & Everton will be the only club that pays out. That’s how it usually works.

Write to your MP about this I beg you, especially if you’re only on Bluesky where they’ll never see or hear your opinions.

Don’t be silly. Reform are only treated as a government in waiting when Labour and Conservatives mess up. When Reform themselves mess up, they’re “not the government”

I’m sure Chris Mason will be all over this on tonight’s BBC news?

It’s no coincidence that we’re always at our weakest within 5 minutes of conceding. We’re a team that instinctively sits back after scoring, and we expect everyone else to act the same way

One of the most tone deaf campaigns for “justice” you will ever come across

Vikki Slade MP@vikkislademp.bsky.social

I’ve joined over 100 MPs calling on the Government to finally do the right thing for WASPI women. Women born in the 1950s were harmed by pension changes made without proper notice. Despite the Ombudsman’s findings, ministers are still delaying fair compensation. I will keep pushing for justice.

A strong belief in leaders ignoring outrage, except when the outrage comes from millionaires, farmers, landlords or anyone over 65 with a Telegraph subscription

I call on my party and my government to remove themselves entirely from X and communicate with the public where they actually participate online and can be protected from such illegality.

weird move posting your condemnation to a child sexual imagery website

Nathan Kalman-Lamb@nkalamb.bsky.social

Mexico and Brazil are among the states condemning the United States’ blatant violation of Venezuelan sovereignty.

Everyone in the real world is either wondering what day it is or annoyed they’re having to work today. You come on here/X and everyone is arguing about some man’s citizenship? I think we need to turn the internet off

#R4Today giving Farage the first word on the BBC story just for him to suggest that millions should stop paying their license fee. Idiotic self own.

Imagine spending £450m in one transfer window and then saying “our squad is probably not as big as people think it is” to defend your run of losses

Suddenly the chance of me having a beer in my seat seems a big step closer. How do we keep pushing him down this path?

I was saying this recently after spending time with a family member who is just permanently glued to their phone. Remember the FAST campaign for strokes? We need something similar for this and we needed it 3 years ago.

Alastair Meeks@alastairmeeks.bsky.social

Last night I heard of another friend of a friend who has been lost to a rabbit hole of online propaganda. We need to start treating this as a serious public health concern.

Even today I would wager the majority of the UK thinks the BNP are bad guys. The fact we’ve slept walk to this point of policy parity without any real scrutiny or comparison is a huge indictment on journalistic and political scrutiny in this country. Add it to the skills shortage!

Jonathan Portes@jdportes.bsky.social

David is slightly unfair. There is a clear difference here. Conservatives and Reform plan to forcibly expel large numbers of people who are legal, permanent residents of migrant origin. The BNP proposal is voluntary.

There are (supposed Left) people on this app claiming Tommy Robinson is better than Starmer because “at least he’s honest about his views”

Elon Musk openly called for violence on our streets yesterday. I hope politicians from all parties come together to condemn his deeply dangerous and irresponsible rhetoric. Britain must stand united against this clear attempt to undermine our democracy.

Remember when anti-Brexit marches pulled these numbers *consistently* and absolutely nobody thought ‘hmm let’s maybe give these guys the keys to public discourse for the next few years’

Adam Schwarz@adamjschwarz.bsky.social

Deeply disturbed to see today's 'Unite the Kingdom' march in London with 100,000+ attendees. This was likely the largest far-right protest in British history and was led by Tommy Robinson and addressed by Elon Musk. The far right are emboldened like never before. But, here's the good news... 🧵
