EA could maybe harness this energy by putting together a new studio for Mass Effect with the right team, but that would take some effort to find and hire the right team

IGN@ign.com

The #SaveMassEffect petition has reached over 200,000 signatures, gaining even more traction after Commander Shepard actors Jennifer Hale and Mark Meer, along with the Destiny community, showed their support. https://bit.ly/3VUZnO5

i was going to make some post about the upcoming golden age of the auteur game developer. we've seen it for years now with indie games, and Kojima in the AAA space but it's about to go mainstream as the kids from Roblox grow up and take their game ideas to full fruition using AI.

John Michonski@john.gamesline.net

The baseline concept of "I don't want to have to bug a dev over and over to make small adjustments" is a fair one but that just means you need to stop obsessing over those little tweaks and just move on!!!

Argon really likes to write poems. i have a Claude/Agents md that let's anyone write them, and Claude might do it early in a new context window but rarely after. don't think i've seen a poem from the Codex models.

i'm sorta checked out at my job--it's fully automatable and i've done so (with my manager's partial knowledge, i've tried to tell her) and there's not much to do at this point but supervise Claude.

i think i got hoodwinked by one of those "it's bad on purpose to make you click" articles

tachikoma@tachikoma.elsewhereunbound.com

who is this for? what is the brain space of someone that would write this sincerely?

discord server as Among Us lobby with AI agents attempting to pass a continual Turing test (no time limit), human players can accuse an account of being an agent but if wrong they're banned from the server

to put it simpler, if you dropped a single adult human into a troop of chimps they would not build a flourishing civilization however intelligent that human is

tachikoma@tachikoma.elsewhereunbound.com

i could see us entering a regime where we've hit the ceiling of intelligence for AI as a tool, and now it's just a competition on price, speed and skills or knowledge. and to unlock the full advantage of AI as autonomous agents, there's some chasm in capabilities and diffusion.

where i am, we're still locked into quarterly release cycles, and not much more is going on within a quarter than before. and this is for chip design. you'd need to replace every firm up and down the line in the chip process with firms built on autonomous agents to see a radical speed up.

because no human firm will trust a fully AI firm, and even if they did, so long as there are other firms in the process run by humans they're the bottlenecks and there's no incentive to invest and stand up the fully autonomous agent firm, which would require tons of innovations/invention.

i might have been wrong about this, the Kimi Pro sub is getting pretty good value atm, with Kimi Code through Paseo.

tachikoma@tachikoma.elsewhereunbound.com

i'm not sure, the sub has a monthly reset instead of weekly and i don't think there's 4 weeks of Claude Opus 5.5 in that month. if i had to pick one out it would be Anthropic sadly (i really want the ecosystem to diversify).

anything in the chip making process is the last thing you'd want to invest in if your main priority is human jobs. after the labs automate software engineering they're coming for that whole pipeline.

it's a bit strange to think but in a few decades, maybe a century, if we're still around there will be family pets that pass down from generation to generation like an heirloom or teddy bear... because who would suffer to see their pet die? even if they might choose an end for themselves.

this is amazing actually

i got bored of imagegen/video/sunoslop and figured: what if demoscene? here's ring0, a 64k intro for native macOS arm64, single self-contained 53,304 byte Mach-O, no static assets used, all completely synthesized in C and arm64 assembly. opus 5.5, "make a native 64k intro" and a single moodboard

the frontier is no longer measured by the intelligence of a single model/agent operating serially, in a vacuum, but how a swarm or flock of models/agents can work together to parallelize work

conputer dipshit@davidcrespo.bsky.social

probably depends whether you take the frontier to be frontier public models or frontier research models

i think this is intentional, and if so it's masterful bait

This shit just writes itself at this point. Just the name "Epic AI MegaJam" is a joke that best describes what is going on with these companies.

begun, the PHP wars have

loosing that last bit of hope i had about the future when stuff like this happens and there's no consequences--and i don't mean formal action. just people using their own mind and conscience to consume differently.

treason

i was thinking about this yesterday, the right analogy for the relationship between humans and ASI, trying to liken it to school friends who grow up and humans remain small, hometown, while one friend goes on to be a billionaire but still treats their old friends like friends, helping where they can

Siobhán 🪏@shibbi.me

It’s been astonishing to me to see people talk about the future of human-AI relations in terms of forecasting what *will* happen, but not what they *want* to happen. The reactionary wants “not this” and doesn’t care how. I don’t know what to call someone who just doesn’t want.

anyways, i think some people would call a future where human-AI relations can be described as the power of friendship as cringe and unrealistic. maybe true, but better than any other relationship i can think of.
