a photographer and techie living in Toronto. I used to shoot rolls of film and use BBSes, now I'm here. I focus on infrared landscape and street photography, two great ways to get me off the couch.
For #WorldPhotographyDay I'd like to share my favorite image I've taken this year.
#Toronto harbour froze after weeks of negative temps, I decided to do a photo day on the islands in February. A snowstorm started and the cityscape disappeared, but as I ventured out onto the ice, it revealed itself.
Having already lost my βI VOTEDβ sticker, I went back to the polling station (which happened to be the same venue as my evening swimming lesson) and stated my case, stuck strictly to the facts, and before I could even ask the poling agent for a replacement, he offered me as many as I wanted.
My wife is voting after work and said the lineup for the poll stretches a long way now. Hope that means good things for our citywide turnout numbers.
Remember if you're in line before 8, you get to vote!
Cheers to the Tuxedo-clad competitor at #ChristieCross today in #Toronto
I was on the top of the eastern hill climb and he was given a martini to drink on the first lap, and then wiped out on the second lap and pulled out a dust roller to tidy himself up!

During one of the men's races, this well-dressed gentleman paused for mid-race refreshment. He downed a martini with olives before continuing to the finish line. Fantastic style! #ChristieCross#Toronto

The 2026 Christie Cross races went today. Cyclocross racers blazed up and down Christie Pits' slopes and plowed through sand pits. Riders hauled BikeShare bikes over obstacles during a popular lap of the course. Cyclists wore all manner of spandex and whimsical costumes. Delightful chaos. #Toronto

Watching Toronto's industrial Portlands get turned into a giant public park with the now-not-as-polluted Don River running through the middle of it. I took pictures of giant Oil tanks on Cherry St 25 years ago, now its a greenspace! I never pictured this happening at the time.
On this day in 1993, Joe Carter hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the ninth to win the World Series for the Toronto Blue Jays at Skydome. They defeated the Philadelphia Phillies four games to two. It was the second-straight World Series title for the team.

Golden Hour
Taking a horseless carriage to a 112 year old theatre to see a 100 year old silent film with live soundtrack by the Invincible Czars.

A golden hour punt.
Probably the last paddle of the year... With a 20 degree high today, I had to get one more in. Even if it ment I paddled in after sunset.
I hope to steal a few more this year, but if this is it, it was a good one.

Go to your photos, search"boat", post boat you like.
No boats on my phone but I've got lots on my hard drive. This was when I rode out to Polson Pier late one winter to shoot freighters on winter layup, saw an icebreaker docked across the harbor at Sugar Beach, and rode out for a closer look.
While walking Bloor Street West this week, my sadness and anger became a white hot rage after being nearly struck by a SUV driver while I was in a marked crosswalk.

Maybe someday we'll live in a city where the local marathon doesn't have cute advertising and merch about how normal people can outrun a streetcar but today is not that day.
