Today, I have been doin' a lot of that age old thing where you tweak a bunch of CSS values by like 1 rem or something & then check the layout, & then do it again like 40,394,093,340 more times, for hours & hours. .....no? just me? oh.

Well ain't that a kick in the teeth. I spent a bunch of time building a particular feature, & then the upstream repo publishes a release with the same feature implemented better. lol

Ok, so, I have integrated Google Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, Drive, & I'm gonna throw Gmail in there as well. Google is pretty much done. Next up is Microsoft, because they also expose all the APIs to make this easy & actually work well.

The other provider on my list was Proton, & after some investigating, it is pretty severely unfeasible to implement anything at all, due to the E2EE architecture. So Proton is scrapped. Any other providers I should add? Do people use Dropbox enough to warrant it in the Files app?

(btw, i'm gonna offer all my work up to @comail.at to implement in Inbox, but if they aren't interested, I'm just making a fork of it somehow, it looks like. We will see what becomes of this...)

Then after that I'll do Nextcloud, per @nso.ovh's request, which is a little more troublesome & won't be as clean, but I can make it happen. Last I'll do Apple, because it is going to be stupid, & have missing features, & require users to generate an App Password, because Apple is fucking awful.

I have Google Contacts working nicely now. I made a detour & did some other random fixes everywhere, & added some more features I wanted, like more themes & icons. I also made damned sure to change the default notification sound from the obnoxious sine wave BEEEEP! to literally anything else.

I already have Google Calendar working. I am a beast. :D

First thing I want is Calendar, Contacts, & Tasks to be synced with my Google Account. I intend to also implement Apple, Microsoft, Proton, & anything else that someone might want. Any other suggestions?

It just occurred to me that I'm accidentally building an export tool to migrate all of this type of data from proprietary platforms into your PDS. Huh.

I wish Bluesky messages had images. I've said that before & was met with a lot of people saying they are super glad there is no way to be sexually harassed with DM'd images. So I propose this: Images in every DM convo are disabled by default. Each participant must click an opt-in in order to allow.

It seems playground.google does not give 2 shits about copyright. The first prompt I tried was literally nothing but the word "Tetris". Here it is: playground.google/g/T1ZOm9

playground.googleGrid CascadeA fast-paced single-player block stacking puzzle game where players position falling polyominoes to clear full rows and score massive combos.

Huh. I just saw the latest from Google Labs: blog.google/innovation-a... labs.google/playground Idk how I feel about it, but I'm about to try it...

What the fuck is W Social? All I can find is the drama about the personal information in public records, and I can't find out exactly what it is.

So actually, resetting an Android phone is super painless nowadays, or at least resetting a Pixel when you have everything in your life in your Google Account. Reinstalling everything takes a while, but it eventually restores like absolutely all of your user data quite cleanly.

Apparently it's a factory reset day.

One glaring omission though is that it does not restore any installed PWAs, which I have (had) a ton of, & I don't remember all of them. *sigh*. I guess as I reinstall them I should make a bookmarks folder of PWAs I want on my phone, for next time.

Oh yeah, so the reason for the factory resetting? I changed my Google password. & it made my phone & watch MADDDDD at me. lol. But I was running the latest OS beta, so I imagine that was a contributing factor to the hiccup. Oh well. I returned to stable public release channel, & everything is nice.

@comail.at the note about the Acceptable Use Policy link being broken on the home page? Yeah, turns out the bottom bar of links has a systemic issue of erroneously pointing to the build subdomain.

Ok I got it to be less pathetic by using Opus 5.5 with modified prompts underscoring the need to send syntactically complete & accurate tool call JSON data files. It made me a nice list of 12 people I should follow! Neat!

The site shows this copyable DMARC record for me: "v=DMARC1; p=quarantine; rua=mailto:dylan.g.singer@gmail.com,mailto:postmaster@atmos.email;" But if we follow the Comail docs, it should be: "v=DMARC1; p=reject; aspf=r; adkim=r; rua=mailto:dylan.g.singer@gmail.com,mailto:postmaster@atmos.email"
