CW: dumb rambly post for the past couple of months ive been thinking that chiptune as we know it is dead. theres so few people keeping the true spirit of 2010s - 2020ish chiptune alive its insane... (not saying that i was or still am not apart of the problem somewhat)

4. people in this subculture care wayyyyyyyy too much when someone makes one singular mistake, it pushes my anxiety to its limits and i have genuinely broken down a couple times when i make a mistake. theres one place im thinking of specifically, but people will get angry if i DARE attack it.

sorry for the massive rant post and sounding like chiptune hitler, my brain has just been fried from being "in the chiptune space" and trying to talk to SOME chiptuners (keyword some, i still actually really like a lot of people here)

2. fakebit is VERY COOL!! but you cant say "this is chiptune cause it was made in furnace" when theres 20 chips, none have export, the speed of the module is like 700hz and the emulation is inaccurate on half of them. i die everytime i see something like "[2A03 + SID (6581) + Generic PCM DAC]"

3. furnace is a very cool program and has made chiptune accessible for more people, its the reason i started making chiptunes! but oh my god we need to honestly start gatekeeping chiptune. i dont want to constantly talk to immature, attention seeking children who ask "mOdUlE wHeN??"

1. ive been seeing so many chiptune "covers" where someone just takes a module and copies most of the pattern data. people go like "cool cover!" to what is basically the musical equivalent of tracing... i dont think i ever made a formal statement on this, but THIS is why i stopped giving modules

me when i have to do i was originally gonna draw rin satsuki but i sort of just deleted that idea (also i know that putting rin satsuki in a post would put me in every touhou feed but i dont care, its free advertising) (:<<<
